Daily Polls Suggestion

Hi, well I thought a good idea to get the community to interact even more than we do already would be to start up daily polls.

We could either just create a thread each day (someone in charge of the task) which contained a poll with an idea given from the community on a previous poll or an idea which the person in charge has.

Or we could have a section called daily polls which just contains threads with the daily polls in and a new thread would be made in there each day.

Ideas for new polls could be given in the previous day(s) polls where users can reply to the thread with ideas and the person in charge of the polls could use one of their ideas. - I would happily volunteer to look after and maintain these polls.

I hope I've explained it quite well, I'm not great with explaining things, but let me know what you think.

 

I like the concept, but weekly rather than daily.

Would go nicely with the news reel that was suggested previously.

 

I agree with Rwm; weekly sounds better. Could be run by the community events team. Support!

 

Yeah I couldn't decide whether weekly or daily would be better, weekly would get more votes/attention so would be better tbh

 

Like this idea, although as others have said, a weekly poll seems a lot more probable and realistic.

 

A daily poll wouldn't get enough votes, however weekly potentially would. It's probably a better idea to have the weekly anyways as then we would have more time to think of ideas for the next weeks poll, and it could actually be interesting stuff instead of "Mac vs PC" or "Should cannabis be legalised". It would also draw more attention to the SFA is there was a thread in there linked to the poll.

Weekly sounds good, and a nice example you have there that proves lots of people would reply.

And it provokes interesting conversation as well, I say go for it.

I've had an idea also with this, maybe if the community dev team ran it, it could be titled POTW : [Name here]

Only disadvantage is people may lose interest for instance with sotw's there is always more people for the first few, but this is a bit bigger target area than that.

 

Maybe a weekly and somehow include a minirank for voting on the poll xweeks in a row.

 

Weekly would be nice to found out some things about the average Sythe user.
And I'd go weekly over daily because you'll have more votes, which means more realistic numbers basically

 

Denied, this has been replaced/is being incorporated into CDT events.

I've brought this idea to RwmRs2's attention though, to see if it's something CDT is interested in.
