Blocnote Cover

So this is a small assignment for school, a simple design for a blocnote and/or sketchbook.

I tried to keep it simple but appealing, I used a picture i took myself on the background and off course photoshopped the rest of it. I did the text in InDesign.

But i'm not sure about the blue of the text?
Hope to get some CnC from you guys

Those look nice man , i like the "hello, my dear" one!
I like simplicity in work, but still being able to make something cool and unique out of it

I am going to be honest and say that neither of them look very good in my opinion. First the colors on both of them are just weird and could be toned down probably 10 - 15% on the background. The text is just boring. You should do something to it like stress it or something, just blend it in more because it really sticks out too much. Next is the font, I think it is a good choice but you have to work with the style and craft something around it. It looks sort of art deco, go with that theme for the entire image. I really don't like how it is just sliced into pieces, because it feels really boring. Take out the lines, throw on some textures and some filters, play around with the color settings and see what you can come up with. Make it interesting.

 

Agreed with Nero's statement. Work a little on the blending but overall liking v2 more than the first. Good job.

What does CnC stand for? Criticism and compliments? Anyway deffenitly lile #2 more. I think you should of experimented with more colors though like light blue.
