New Logo:

I know I'm a new member, and I hate to assume things, but I think it's a good look for Sythe. The shooting-star background vastly contrasts the Sythe's medieval/egyptian look, but I think it was a good match-up overall. Too bad the advertisements block more of the shooting-star background

I think it was a test, its changed back.

 

I think it looks shit honestly. It makes sythe look like we're a guild website. So much less professional than before.

 

I hope it's not permanent, it takes forever for the logo to load each page. It hurts your eyes too because you have to strain them to click the hyper links above the dark blue.

 

Yeah. The background is fine but the logo is quite honestly terrible. I wished Sythe knew web trends and stepped in and picked Alt's logo instead but it looks like that won't happen.

 

It's a nice fit

 

Holy mother of god that background looks amazing. I like that Richard incorporated the option to switch back to the previous logo + background for users that don't like this one.

The logo is more or less fine. Although I think it'd be nice if Moon made a few more adjustments to background so it's more compatible with the current Sythe page layouts.

 

Saying it was up to the community is kinda lame considering that we've already established there has been some cheating and large discrepancies in the votes

Not a bug. It's the dimensions of the background. If you look at the previous background + logo, you'll see it had a bottom background image stuck to the bottom. I guess Moon could make something for the bottom part page too.

 

I'm just going to stick to the older Nexgen style...


Edit: It is saddening to see Sythe fall in to the generic and indistinguishable look that plagues fan sites and lowly gaming/guild forums. We need a logo, not some over-sharpened text from c4d with ill-thought out kerning, spacing, proportions, size of type, and random motifs that serve no purpose.

Sythe.org needs something that identifies this as the top gaming site on the internet as well as the hub of virtual trade. It needs to be remembered as well as remain relevant in years to come, and despite what anybody says, the current and future member-base will quickly tire of the new design.

 

Dislike the logo. Background is decent but seems rough and needs to be refined. Oh and, prefer the old one.

I like the background but not the logo it looks like wierd idk just wierd I dont like it please change..... looks prehistoric or something.

 

Can you make it so when someone logs into their Sythe account/visits the forum, once per 24 hrs they are given a popup-screen that tells them to vote on the polls and redirects them there?
