Admin Spam But no Infraction?

Seems to me like admins are invincible; surely if we get punished for spamming they should too?

Why do admins get treat differently to the rest of the community?

Or if 'I'll raise it with him' means he will get an infraction then this thread is invalid

Admins can't be infracted. They can't be banned either, so even if they could be infracted it would be meaningless.

 

But surely if we strive to keep sythe spam free, and admins just go about doing it; what is the point in anyones infractions?

Administrators are allowed to 'bend' the rules slightly. I think stuff like this on a mild scale is fine. I believe when RsProd said he'd raise it with him he meant he'd talk to n4n0 about the post. He doesn't have to be infracted to know not to spam. Either way its not a massive deal.

I believe that admins and mods deserve not to get infracted unless it's bad.

I know mods can't infract higher up mods and admins.

 

Well yeah weasel i agree, but its more of the principal... And it shows admins not really caring about the rules either...

But if a mod/admin cant take 5 infraction points/month then there's something wrong here lol.

seems pretty hypocritical right? i'm still trying to figure what sythe meant when he said this...

 

Now from reading this; its clear n4n0 is 'bending the rules' a slight too much imo.

 

Oooor n4n0 is distinguished (being administrator), so you children pay more attention to him, and therefore think that his 1 spam post every month is a colossal breach of staff conduct, and should be dealt with harshly and immediately as opposed to a regular users averaged 1 spam post every hour... Anyone who has a problem with it is probably harboring some personal vendetta, and is releasing steam by pouncing on staff for their minimal breach of the rules


Bottom line is, NO moderator can infract or ban an administrator, so if you have a problem with the conduct of an administrator, your best bet would be to take it directly to sythe-- the only one who has the power to do anything about it.

Rules are rules, would a police officer be exempt from rape charges just because he's a police officer?

Way to make an extreme generalization by saying that regular users spam once per hour.

Also I don't have a personal vendetta against Nano, but with his personality I can see how some people may not in fact favour him as a administrator, especially with his scamming background.

Regardless, every admin should be held responsible to the same rules as the members of this site. Possibly even higher standards, people who use this site, people who donate to it and help grow its popularity don't want to see double standards happen.

You have to look at it like this. Me(or any other admin or mod for that matter) merely posting "I support this" carries a lot more weight than a user trying to spam, and is in itself a userful post. If staff supports it, there's a better opportunity that the idea will end up being implemented.

The reason I replied that way is because the article was an interesting read, and would get a lot more exposure in off topic than it would in the runescape section, which is where it was originally posted, and I thought it was a topic worthy of being reposted seeing as it directly related to Sythe. Sure, my response to the matter was a little questionable, but my feelings on it remain the same.

 

Then n4n0 you should say that instead of a mere 'deal with it'. You should express your thoughts in what you write; we are not mind readers;P

 

A admin saying they support something obviously has real meaning apposed to me just posting support since no one gives a fuck if I support. Stop trying to start shit.

 

Unless it's a closing statement, an admin or a mod should know better than to spam at all. Infractions shouldn't be necessary.
