I would like to make an app

Mainly for my personal use, but others can use as well, I will be posting it on the Apple Store.

I want to make an un-official (Or official if Sythe decides they want to use it) app for Sythe on the store. Not one where you get on Sythe, but like a quick reference guide with the complete list of rules for Sythe, names of current OMM, tips & tricks for safe trading, just things like that.

I want Sythe permission to make this app due to copyright laws. Since I will be using information right off this site, such as your rules and everything.

Like I said, I want to make it just for me honestly, for a quick reference guide if I dont have time to look it up. I will post it here for others to use if other people would be interested in downloading it, or is Sythe would like to make it official for others to use that is fine as well.

So, do I have permission to do this, also who else would use this app if I made it, just curious?

Again, this is NOT an app for you to get on Sythe with and check your stuff. This is just an app full of information that could be handy on the go.

Please do not post below on how stupid or pointless this may be because people can just use the website to find all this info, like I have said I mainly want to make it for myself.

Other can use it if they like, or not, I am only asking because of the copyright laws. I honestly think a nice, neat and organized little app with all of Sythes important information in one place
would be a great thing for users, Instead of hunting down specific threads on the site, but thats just me.​

 

The only person who would ever be able to grant you rights for that would be Richard (Sythe) seeing as he's the owner of the site/company. Posting it here is purely to get other opinions on the matter.

It's great to see someone else wants to help out with the Tech side of things, but there's reasons only a handful of people have access to the site's 'mainframe' (if that's the right word) out of the entire userbase. Richard would have to review your code, and would probably have to have control over the account on the app store and you submit the app + future updates but you are still given credit. I personally don't think this will get approved, but that's just my opinion.

You're not gonna get any further on this without Richard's input.

- I wouldn't use it as I don't own an Apple device (or at least one that uses apps).

 

Oh my, I don't want his code or anything like that lol, think of this app much like a guide/eBook. Its just going to have information about the website in it, that I can update as Sythe updates of course..

If he was to want to run that himself I am fine with that =D but yeah, I wouldn't need any codes or things like that, but I see what you mean

 

Richard, any chance you could give me the OK to do this? Like I said I don't want codes or anything from you, just permission to make an app for iPhone that lets me store info about Sythe on it, like rules, OMM list, etc.

 

I'll link Richard this thread and hopefully he'll see it. Then again he may catch it on the front page.

By the way you can go ahead with an app for Sythe.org without Richard's approval, only difference is you cannot claim it is official or is anyway endorsed or related (directly) to Sythe.org Although I think its better if it has Richard's approval.

 

Well id have to say its a good idea, but that access is going to be hell with Richard, ive also notices other sites have that and online games also have it, but im sure he will have a look at it. Id say just mention it to him, as you wanting to try it out, get a few members to try it out maybe Richard himself to take a look at it once you have it all up and running and he might like it. No shame in voicing your opinion it can either help the site or not help it but it for sure wont hurt it. Good idea and good luck with Richard.

I don't see the point. Your saying it's for your own use right, as you want it for yourself, for convenience purposes. 'Want to make it just for me honestly, for a quick reference guide if I dont have time to look it up.'

The time you spend collating and writing up the information needed for the guide, you will have all the knowledge you need in regards to the purpose of the App. I personally don't see any point. If it's for your own use, why not just copy paste information into a document and open it when you need it.

 

Also True I think he's trying to help people who always have sythe on the go or new member. IDK it just seems like a cool add on.

 

Its fast, convenient, looks cleaner. Just things like that. And Richard, I already have a beta version made up, if you are considering this just PM me so I can send you the source code.

E: I have source codes for both iPhone and Android.
