Spam Forum being strangled

I support corey in this case, Jack everyone can have worse day. Elena will do whatever she want, she has her mind and she will decide what to do and what not. It's also not first girl ever on sythe. GayLord section just never seen one

 

The deathsnova and R2p/grave thing are in the past, but at the time I mean, little to nothing was done.

I'm not saying she isn't targeted, but WTF.. everything is really taking place in the spam forum.

People trolled her pictures which were posted in the spam forum. Deathsnova's were trolled from the faces of sythe thread. I don't find deathsnova annoying, I find him amusing. Some people find Elena annoying and others find her amusing, you can't hold double standards if one is being praised and the other being treated like dirt for similar situations there is obviously something wrong with the situation.

 

Except that as spam forums users, we reacted no different to Elena, than Virus, or Heads, or Bullant.

Yet when it's a GIRL, suddenly shit gets real and we shouldn't be doing that.

When before, it was fine if the user was assumed to be male, yet when the gender is known and it's off the opposite sex, every single virgy this side of the Mississippi wants to try and have e-sex with her by defending her "honor."

Johnk nailed it on the head by saying Corey was/is reacting in terms of Elena through emotions and not morals, common sense considering the other fiascos that have occurred in the spam forum in terms of users being made fun of, harassed.

 

Guys, please stick to generalizations, no more name-calling/finger-pointing. Refer to staff members as staff and refers to users as "a user"

If you have something personal to stay about staff members, you may do so on their feedback thread.

This is to remain as discussion regarding the moderation of the Spam Forum, nothing else.

Yeap agreeing with this haven't been able to keep up with all of it but i do notice the protective behaviour all of a sudden..

Great thread Jack, and this is definitely true. It was not long ago when Grave made a similar thread like this, and the grip on the SF was toned down. And even before the SF was loosened up because of Grave's thread, Deathsnova was being harassed way more than Elena.

Corey shouldn't be the one to call the shots and strangle it when he wishes to. There have been plenty of girls around, some have posted in the SF from time to time. Some attractive and some not. But no one has went to the point Elena did, she knew the pictures would go on people's sig, threads would be made (after the first). Yet she continued to do so. There were countless of threads about her, some bragging about the picture they got. Nothing wrong with that, and Elena knew that said threads would be made, but more kept coming. It's the Spam Forum, when you give the SF that much attention you cannot expect to be treated nicely.

What was Elena expecting when people started making threads about the pictures they got, when they started putting the pic in their sig. Nothing wrong with it as she gave them permission, but something's bound to happen when you become the center of attention in the SF.

She even asked for it.

 

EDITED : Yes its best to just stay out of the spam forum if you cant take constructive criticism, just curse the idiots back thats what I do, just dont take any of it outside of the Spam forum and you will be ok.

 

In the past staff disliked it when we used generalizations though, as they wanted specific examples that would back up our arguments.

Locking this thread unduly is about the worst thing that could be done.

What? You just answered the whole point of this topic. I have no issue with Corey, great guy, but the point of this thread is what you just said.

 

I'm still surprised at the way people react to female presence online. It's not as rare as it used to be, but people still choose to take the immature route. Reasons are beyond me, but I had the same kind of harassment when I first showed up. Granted, the spam forum wasn't quite the cesspool circlejerk that it is now, but I still went through all this. When you act provocatively and start posting pictures of yourself in tight-fitting clothes with personalised signs, this is what you get.

 

That's what they are saying, Elena should be prepared for it lol, considering she's asking for it and hence Corey shouldn't feel the need to protect/ban or whatever happened.

 

He reacted by deleting/locking any threads relating to Elena, banning Magic Arrow from the spam forum and warning me and several other users that we'd be next.

Do Gmods really have the power to ban people from forums because they feel like it or are not in a good mood? Sounds like a certain ex admin i knew.

 

I had no idea all this was going on because I never usually check out the Spam section. But after reading through your post something does seem kind fishy.

The way I see it, a post should NOT have been delete from the "SPAM" section if it wasn't breaking any official Sythe rules, I'm sure most mods know how to find them right? If not I can provide a link for you.

The girl was harassed because she let herself be harassed and brought it on herself. Did I mention it was in the spam forum yet? Labeled "Spam away"

So yeah, I agree Jack, I think a Moderator has an apology to make, if he doesn't make it public he should be stripped of his status since he has been emotionally compromised.

E: Just wanted to point out to the mods that I was leaving my opinion about Jack's post and said clearly in the post that I agree with his opinion. There are no rules at Sythe that say you can't state your opinion, no matter how harsh, so I better not see any infractions on my profile for this I dont care how pissy of a mood you are in tonight.
