The most ridiculous scams?

When I was buying a Santa hat on my skiller (pre-2006) players were asking me to follow them into a room with another play standing by the door and a mugger in the room lol.

All these are ridiculous. Idk how ppl fall for them... Red portal lures must be the worst.. HOW CAN YOU FALL FOR THAT!!?

 

Doubling by far, 2nd would be armour trimming.

Ah good old armour trimming. Brings back memories of when people would scam others for Iron sets :LL

 

Trying to trade a white 2h sword and pretend it was a saradomin sword was pretty common ages ago. It's so silly though with the trade value counter haha.

 

"I can turn your armor white, just give me your addy g"- Back when a guy had initiate armor telling me he could make mine white (it was in an f2p world and I had never seen it before).

 

Most ridiculous scam Id say when someone legit from a gambling clan scams

Edit: I fall for one of the most stupid scams once lol, this was when I first started playing Rs like 5 years ago, I've quit already but I remember I spent an entire morning killing cows for cowhides, collected around 100 of them so I went to the varrock bank and was like "Selling 100 cowhides 20k" and a random came and offered me like 25k and a beef, so I got kinda excited and he took the money out and the traded ended up being 100 cowhides for a beef

 

Armour trimming was the one I came by the most lol.

 

I remember someone trying this one on me when I was hanging around dragon dyce. They would give you a lava titan and scroll for its special move and ask you to teleport them by using the scroll on them. But using the scroll would just instantly teleport you to level 41 wilderness. I don't think it's possible anymore because it gives you a warning message.

Staking crashing items such as disc of returning like half year ago, was worth 50% GE value, same 3rd age and pumpkin

 

Oddest thing that's happen to me:

A guy asked me to double his 500k bank, so I did as I was in a good mood and it seemed as if the 500k would help him out.
After that trade he trades me again and puts up like 8m and starts laughing saying gf scammed 500k.
I put max cash and a green hat I had at the time in the trade and he just logged out.
Was deffinately the strangest 'scam' I've ever had done on me.
As far as real scams go it normally just lures, they tend to say they can double my blue or w/e I have or use it to get another one and I just play dead until they leave.

 

Not really a scam if you were willing to let him keep it. Your just a sucker :love:

 

The worst one ever was the show inv for free sharks/glories

and best one was the ahrims staff
when you say buying whip 2.7m and when they trade you show ahrims staff
and on your friend says buying ahrims staff 8.2m or whatever

Honestly, no one even tried something like that on me. I dunno why..

 

The people who tell you to "trade fast" and quickly accept to get a sara sword for 100k. Who falls for that shit?

I personally have to say the trimming armour one . I don`t even think you can trim armour from what I know of so far and who would ever fall for that?

If something seems to good to be true then it probably is .
