Change to the ban evader rules

The staff has changed the ban evader rules in order to treat users more fairly. From now on evading a temporary ban will result in all accounts being banned for the length of your temp ban, plus an addition week (give or take).

We will also be selectively unbanning users who were permanently banned for evading a temporary ban. If you are one of these users, please post a dispute in the dispute forum.

I've wanted this change for a long time now.

 

Sounds like a better alternative as the users may be unaware that evading a ban, even temporary is against the rules. This allows a slap on the hand instead of a one shot kill.

 

Good change in the rules, particularly for things like temporary bans for getting a few infractions.

It's getting all a bit dire. But hopefully this will help.

 

This seems like a good idea. It should be ok if they were only evading an infraction ban.

 

Most temporary bans are given out for non-malicious reasons such as Spamming, Excessive bumping and posting Porn.
