Inactive Official Middlemen

Why doesn't Sythe get rid of inactive middlemen? It seems a bit ridiculous that some OMMs don't MM at all yet keep the rank, when people like Dave and TBT actually deserve the rank and are active.

Being a good/active moderator doesn't mean they should keep the rank if they don't do anything with it.

Let's get some active OMMs so that the community can trade safely...

 

I agree with this very much, I have been trying to sell my RSGP for a while and its so hard to get in touch with a OMM that is ready to use. I prefer to use OMM but when I have a sale its such a headache to get in touch with one. The OMM system needs to be revamped to be honest, a active team of OMM with a good active leader would be great. I am going to start MMing to help get myself known in the market a little more, hopefully one day I can gain the OMM rank.

Although a problem at the moment is Jagex is wiping many people so this might be putting of OMM a bit because they don't want to have to pay out for lost RSGP while trying to MM a trade due to Jagex taking the gold from their account.

 

n4n0 said that if the MM, while talking on the convo, makes it clear that he won't repay back and both users agree, the MM won't be held liable to pay back. Of course, it's better if the trade is recorded so there's proof, because if users agree and MM's starts "getting wipe" often, it's an obvious scam.

 

100% SUPPORT, They do not deserve their rank if they are inactive and not helping the site. There are more people on sythe that deserve it and are highly trusted. They cannot have a OMM rank if they are not helping out by Middle-manning E.T.C

 

Yea, that rule should only count if the OMM actually records all their trades. Hopefully your 3rd application comes in and we have a new OMM.

 

100% support this, Pain in the ass trying to find an OMM when there mostly offline. Also depends on time zones etc.

 

They should give my OMM back, I was restitutionalized after all. I promise to be le active.

Anyway, yeah, OMM activity has really been dwindling, especially with the mods who don't MM yet retain the rank. And/or people that use it as trust in the marketplace but don't actually middleman anymore.

 

This, maybe work out a even amount of OMM's in different time zones.

I support this as well, that if your inactive for a certain amount of time your omm rank should at least be suspended and someone else should have the opportunity to step up like Dave, Or TBT they are actively mming all the time.

 

Ye that is true ive noticed the same thing i dont even hear the word OMM around much but i see the ranks.

They should be more active dosent make sense to have the rank and only be on once every 5-6 months

 

There's no limit on the number of OMMs, and we don't really consider the number of OMMs we already have when voting on a poll. So demoting current inactive OMMs does nothing to bring new ones in.

No support. They earned the rank in the first place and many do/have done things on the forums. Some may have other commitments at the moment and may OMM later on when they have more time. A rank is a rank and nothing more. If its not being used it doesn't affect anyone.

 

100% support. Vouches, Ranks dosen't show how trusted you are. You have to decide for yourself if the person you are trading with is trusted enough. But with Ranks like OMM, it's easier for you to trust someone, because he worked hard for it to actually get it. But still you can't trust anyone for 100%, anyone not even Mods etc. But often (for me) you can feel/see whether the person your tradining with is trustful or not.

 

I have not yet received one legitimate private message to OMM a trade. I have been continually responding to members who are speaking to scammers or are in bad dealings.

If you are in need of assistance, please feel free to contact me. There are guidelines in place to protect Official Middlemen and their ranks, but will be adjusted accordingly in light of certain events.

 

rohail was hacked pretty obvious considering he ditched the email he's been using from the start for a new one when he returned.

Also no not everyone scams sooner or later.

Also it takes quite a lot of effort to earn the rank so I see no reason why it should be removed after time if more OMMs can be added at any time.

 

There's no harm to having more OMMs, and these people earned the rank so it's not fair to strip them of it

 

Its also not fair to the users of sythe to have trades not happen because they cannot find a OMM online and do u see the last activity of some of the OMM's that obscured dont you think ? All im saying is they should be more active or make more.

 

That issue with the OMM being hacked because he was inactive shouldn't have happened. He was inactive way too long he should of had his rank suspended until he confirmed he was fully back.
