Black-Hat and scamming should always be a ban.

Excuse my stupidity but could you explain "Offsite Offenses Rule"

i'm going to assume what i think, and give it a go.

I would say, if something were to happen off site, like you scammed someone or were involved in something that would "Get you in trouble" it should also be brought with "You" (The user) and should not be looked past as we do not want any BS coming onto the site, as we already have enough trouble with scammers ect. on the site.

So if you were to do something on another site that got you banned, it should be looked into and if bad enough, carry the ban onto sythe.

Forgive me if i'm totally off topic.

There should be a time limit of like x amount of months that an off site offense still warrants a ban here on sythe.

Maybe a TwC to those who have scammed offsite? And a ban to those who have scammed recently. (If scam occurred less than two months ago.)

    Question to anyone:

why would we let anyone on this site, that has scammed from anywhere else? That is just setting up someone on here to be scammed and then that user just getting banned?

This is a good point. I am all for giving people who have changed/matured another chance, but allowing fresh scammers/hackers in is just looking for scammings and hackings. We are having a shit-ton of problems with people DDoSing Sythe. Do we really want to be a safe-haven for those types of people to take refuge and condone that behavior?

One year of SOL because whose going to become active and make a difference on the community only to scam someone after an entire year of hard work and effort. Especially with their prior offense elsewhere being thrown into their face during a transaction in the future. The main publicity of Sythe in my opinion is the Black Market section. In my opinion, one year with staff members leaning over your shoulder should give a large indication as to whether or not that particular person is, in fact contemplating scamming another user.

As someone who has been pardoned for a stupid mistake i made when i was young, i beleive that past experiences should not contribute to your demeanor on sythe or your trustworthiness up to an extent of about 3 years. However, major 1337 hacking and phat scamming should still be unforgivable offenses, but small things like 10m scams, phishing a level 30 accounts, ect, that are historical should be announced by the person when joining sythe and then forgiven. I am NOT stating that sythe should let a bunch of scammers into it's forums, but however there should be some lenicency on the historical acts some people did when they were younger, this IS a runescape site and runescape is/was a game for teenagers.

The purpose of the stature of limits is to ban people who have committed an offense within the constraints of that SoL. Not to watch their every move for the duration.

I feel it should stay because if a person scams on a different site, it means the person would scam on Sythe too.

If someone is going to scam or blackhat(hurt innocent people) somewhere else they probably will here too.

Unless it was something of the past and they have changed since then it is a good rule. I also think someone can change enough for just a 1 year or more, but if people was thinking 2 just to be safe that would be cool too. I personally voted 1 year and ban on offsite scamming/blackhat.
