I thought it would be a neat guide to keep a community journal of what type of workout you did for today. This way, we could see what we are all doing to help encourage each other to work out. Please be kind to each other as there are a lot of people who are self-conscious about this. If you engage on flaming, I will report your post as that is counter-productive to this thread. Don't have a gym membership/can't think of any exercises to do? Do some Calisthenics (bodyweight exercises), click here for some ideas.

I don't care if you just walked for 20min, post it!

    Format (example):
    Code:
    [U][B]Today's Workout[/B] (Date MM/DD/YY)[/U]
    3 Sets/8 Reps = Situps
    2 Sets/5 Reps = Inclined Benchpress
    1 Set/3 Reps = Inclined Benchpress (Till Failure @ 180lbs)
    15min = Cycling

Notes: I didn't eat to well after, I am going to give this new work out a shot starting tomorrow, etc ,etc.

Copy and Paste (just fill out the info )

    PHP:
    [U][B]Today's Workout[/B] (Date MM/DD/YY)[/U]
    3 Sets/8 Reps = Situps
    2 Sets/5 Reps = Inclined Benchpress
    1 Set/3 Reps = Inclined Benchpress (Till Failure @ 180lbs)
    15min = Cycling

    [B]Notes:[/B]
Please don't be discouraged to post because others are posting insane workouts. Not everyone can manage to do it daily (I know I can't atm  ).

Add this to your sig (copy and paste this text into your signature) so that it gets more exposure and more people become encouraged!

    Today's Workout (Date 11/04/12)
    2 Sets of 20 = Pushups
    15 min = Jog
    1 min/2 Sets = Sprint

Notes: It is VERY cold outside (30F right now) and I am tired so I will just do a bit of cardio. I ate a lot of nuts today (15g of protein) before lunch so that is good. Tomorrow is my weight lifting day so I need all the protein I can get, as I hate consuming whey protein unless I HAVE to. Tempted to eat some peanut better and milk that I have lying around, hopefully I don't cave in and eat it instead of the blueberries I have.

Update: So I fought off the cravings off eating junk.

String, Your workouts that I have seen so far are only truly good for building chest and lowering fat %. Do you plan on working on your arms in the future?

I also didn't include your situps as an ab workout, because 24 of them is going to do nothing for you.

Edit: I'll also keep up with this thread too I guess.

Today: 8 Sets / 12 Rep [25 Pound Dumbbell Curls]
    4 Sets / 12 Rep [25 Pound Dumbbell Flies]
    4 Sets / 12 Reps [Pushups]

The irony is that I am trying to gain weight. I know I shouldn't do cardio but with my sports background its hard to avoid it. I do weights right now 3 days a week as the closest gym is about 5 miles away which doesn't make it very accessible >_<. I work biceps and triceps at the gym with an emphasis on abs/core. I work on my legs by cycling 3 times a week. One thing that is weak is my back, which used to be strong but is now weak :(. I don't have a set gym workout schedule, as I usually try to feel it out on the day I am there. I always do abs/core though. Since I workout 3 times a week only, it gives my body time to recover between workouts so I can afford to workout the same part of my body twice in a week, though I try to avoid it. I also added my snack above, check it out :p.

Only 24 situps? Do you have a gut or you just don't focus on your core much? Abs are very important, imo, as it is the core of your body. I forgot about bicep curls, I will probably do that tomorrow. What shape are you in btw? Or what type of body do you have? (Would be good to know)

I'm saying you. You in your original post said you only do 24 sit ups, so I was asking why. There is no point in even doing them.

Guess I'll chip in, gonna hit some legs and triceps today.

    Routine's gonna be :

    Squats - 5x8-12 reps
    Leg press - 5x8-12 reps
    Leg curls - 5x10-12 reps
    Leg extensions - 5x10-12 reps
Weighted calf raises - 3x20 reps

    Skullcrushers - 3x8-12 reps
    Cable pushdown - 3x12 reps
Overhead cable extension - 3x10-12 reps

Will post weights once I'm done.

Good idea for a thread btw :)

You do more legs then me (at the gym) in a day then I do in a week lol. I usually will do leg curls at 3 sets. The leg press machine is on another floor so I usually don't both. I figure the cardio + biking makes up for legs.

Skullcrusher seems interesting (I youtube'd it) and I will definitely give it a shot as my triceps are not as strong as my biceps atm. Overhead cable extension, thanks for reminding me as it is one of my old favorites ^_^.

    Today's Workout (Date 11/05/12)
    Situps - 3x30 reps

Notes: I usually go to the gym after work but today during my shift I mixed some strange food and had an upset stomach all day  . Decided to take the day off. Made sure to eat healthy today since I skipped. Will make up for it on Wednesday (next gym day). Was supposed to do homework but ended up just laying around :(.

Three sets of ab crunches. Used 100 lbs and after each set did as many sit-ups as I could.
Three sets of forearm workouts using dumbbells til failure for each arm. Used 25 lbs. Did a superset after the last set using 20 lbs.
A set of oblique crunches using 45 lbs on each side. Did my right side til failure but didn't push myself for the left side.

First off, Welcome to the thread/ride :D.

100lb ab crunches?! o_O Damn you must either be massive or brolic lol. How do you keep track of your progress if you do not keep track of the number of crunches you do?

Do you use any protein powder/supplements? How many times a week do you workout? How old are you? How much do you weight? Why is it that you didn't push yourself on the left side? Just curious since I am going to be reading your exercise log for the next few weeks/months ^_^.

    Today's Workout (Date 11/06/12)
    Day Off

Notes: Have exams I need to study for so today is a skip day :(. I am in need of some thermals for outdoor exercise so I need to look on amazon. If you have any recommendations for good thermal clothes/brand, let me know. On another note, I ate healthy today to balance out the lack of exercise the past 2 days. Ate 4oz of salmon and a smoothie today[/b]

Here's a picture of the smoothie. I never have made a delicious smooth (water based) till today. This one is just AMAZING! (1 1/2 Bananna, 1/4 box of blueberries, 1/2 box of blackberries, and about 6-12oz of water). YUMM

Welcome to the thread! Those dips must be a killer, lol! I struggle to do dips without weights as I haven't done them in a while.

    Today's Workout (Date 11/07/12)
3 Sets/10-12 Reps (increasing weight) = Shoulder Press
    5 Sets/50 Reps = Situps (270 total)
3 Sets/10 Reps = Pectorial Machine (forgot what its called lol)
    2 sets / 8 Reps = Dips
2 sets / 6 Reps = Forearms with free weights
    3 sets / 8-10 Reps = Overhead cable extension
Ping Pong / 15min = Played righty (as opposed to lefty)

Notes: I woke up early today (4am) so I wasn't groggy at the gym. I was surprised at how much abs I did as it usually takes me 7-8 sets to reach 250 but I did it in 5 sets . Focused on triceps today with a little bit of biceps.

I want to do exercise but can't have time to do so because I work about 18 hours an day and no other activity instead of sleeping after work. I'm a healthy person but feeling too lazy and want to become active. Is there any activity which I can do in a very short time and get perfect health?

Hey there thanks. Quite a warm welcome ^_^

I don't think 100lb ab crunches are much honestly. It's weird though because when I first started working out, 40 lbs was ridiculous and I had rarely worked on my core until the past month or so but I can manage 100 lbs easy. Still a flabby stomach - working hard to get some abs :( I don't worry about progress as I'm trying to get cut - which I'm basically done with chest-wise and arm-wise (still doing those exercises though to stay cut in those areas :p ).

I always drink a protein shake afterwards. I'm currently using the brand EaS but I want to go back to my old protein supplement which was Optimum Nutrition's Platinum Whey Protein. Extremely low fat and carbs and high protein and very fast absorbing for after workouts. It's expensive though but it's most definitely one of the best you can buy.

I'm 19 years of age since early March and currently weight 164 with a height of 5'11". My brother, a personal trainer (though I can't get any help from him as he lives rather far from me - he's ripped though) has told me I need to get up to 170 lbs at least before I should get cut..but because I was always so chubby most of my life, I hate the thought of gaining weight. I don't look ridiculously skinny at all though! I've been told my arms are very fit too which is cool. Side-tracking lol.. Anyway, I didn't push myself because I just didn't have the motivation in me to do more. There aren't any weights more than 45 lbs (though I feel stupid as I type this since I could've used a heavier dumbbell for more weight) and I can easily do more than 12 reps per oblique crunch so I didn't have it in me to do 30+ reps haha. Thanks for checking in.

Didn't do any workout Tuesday and Wednesday (today) because I donated blood on Monday and they said lay off the weights for two days. Worth it obviously though :p

Tomorrow I'm doing Back/Biceps with some ab workouts again. I'll let you guys know how it goes :)

Perfect health? No. In fact, I don't recommend exercising AT ALL if you only get 6 hours of sleep a day.

First time at the gym in a bit since I had a shit load of studying over the weekend. Going hard over Thanksgiving break though. :)

Today I did chest/tri's, as well as some forearms.

Did every angle of incline using the Smith Machine for benching. Did 50 lbs to start and ended with 45 lbs before I collapsed from exhaustion lol.

Went on to forearms using dumbbells. Forearms were budging afterwards so I felt proud. Did 3 sets of 30 lbs for each arm with the final set using a 15 lb dumbbell to superset.

For triceps I did 95 lbs using the tricep extension for 3 sets.
