    Summon tank

Hi, I have a friend who is wondering about some things in EoC he should do on his summon tank. His current stats are 41 cb, 78 def, 43 pray, 64 hp, and 95 summ. He's wondering if he should max out def so he can take advantage of the bonuses?
If so, he will be 101 cb in EoC along with 99 pray and hp. He's debating whether keeping 81 cb in EoC a good idea, since the average stats of a typical level 80 main in EoC is 40 atk/40 def.
Any advices and opinions are appreciated.

Cant answer this accurately because there's so many changes going on in the beta. It wont be out for a while, so if he wants to train his defence now he could, no one is really sure on the outcome of the combat calc.

He's currently in an ideal range for pre-EoC in terms of Constitution and Defense. It all depends on whether or not Jagex incorporates Summoning in the actual update. Ultimately if I were him, I would wait and see what their verdict is in post-EoC. If they don't include Summoning, he should go ahead and reach 99 Defense and Summoning as he will dominate everyone at his combat level hands down as he will be completely indistinguishable. Apparently they're reviewing their 'Combat Mechanics' to include Summoning but to what degree we won't know until it's done and over with. EDIT: That was posted by a J-Mod the 10th of August but Rune Wiki claims that Summoning still will no longer effect combat. I would suggest waiting until the official release to be doubly sure but he can go ahead if he wishes.

I've already told him what to do, he's just a noob and wanted more advice :p (Tell him I love him really). As long as his att/str/range/mage are 1, he will have no problem, as the combat formula for it is (highest out ofatt/str/range/mage) + def + 2

I don't see the point in maxing out his stats such as prayer.

All he really needs is 43 pray for defenses. Other than that 99 defense and hp would be decent.

If money isn't an issue, then 99 Prayer is more beneficial than 43 Prayer for obvious reasons including the fact that it doesn't effect your combat level whatsoever.

It's called 'beta' for a reason, so many things can and are changing from now until when it is released... His best bet is to not do anything which can't be undone, so wait until EoC comes out, then male a decision based on the game! Hope I helped :p

Hard to tell yet. But in the mean time he should just max summoning, prayer and hitpoints because none of those are going to affect combat at all !

Realistically, it's nearly impossible to know what build will be stronger in the EoC. It's Jagex, for all we know everything will be different. I'd say his best bet would to take a friend and hit up the EoC Beta and test out various accounts and see what's best.
