Yes, the site has been hacked. Heard it from other people the hacker has gained access to everyone details online. Addresses and all that stuff, look out guys.

 

Can you tell us where you got this information from?

 

I used it yesterday and everything worked fine for me... can you link your source please?

 

It has been, the hacker has targeted the Habbo sellers and releasing all their information and calling them etc. You don't have to believe me, but it is the truth. Ask the live support yourself.

 

Also the site isn't down, its just the database has been leaked.

 

Alright, well thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully PA will find a solution for all of this.

Hi Guys,

Before rumors begin to spread like wildfire, I'd like to chime in here that while we are investigating the issue, it does not seem likely that our database was actually hacked.

The few members who have reported problems on initial investigation seem to have certain links to a specific geographical region, and as such may have had their forum accounts hacked first (which then lead the leaking of personal infos).

We are actually in the process of starting up our own community site, and along the process we have found that forums are actually far less secure than database vaults and security, so it would be our deduction that actually the guys over at the other forum community had their database leaked that way.

Either way we are looking into it. We segregate database information into separate security silos, and all sensitive data is encrypted anyway.

If you guys have questions, feel free to post. Though my responses might be slow, as I'm in the middle of moving apartments!

The forum accounts were never hacked, the information released. It was straight from PA.

 

Well PR is in their name, and PR people are generally BS artists. Could be an attempt to mitigate any damages by covering up what really happened?

 

Adding to what Nero said, but nonetheless I catch your drift. I think an administrator should see to it that this PlayerAuctionsPA user is contacted and proven that he is, in fact, the senior manager. Until that happens I'm leery about his reply.

Hey guys,
I'm the hacker.
What actually happened was I was placing orders, and they asked for ID, so I sent them a link, and ratted one of their Rep's, goes by the name "Zhen Salazaar".
I then got the passwords etc, and was manually verifying random orders.
I then got peoples DOX's who played habbo.
This Rep for PlayerAuctions chats shit, he was begging on me on Skype to not do anything, and they're apparently trying to sue me...
For what? Not sure.
They're an illegal site, and have been sued before by Zynga.
I'll be glad to see it happen again if they chat shit.

I heard it is safe to use now,they reformatted their computers and have had extra training.

Hmph, just goes to show - You should avoid clicking links from people you don't know.

 

I don't think it's any sort of major security risk, just a mishap if anything. Sensitive information, such as PA passwords/card details etc etc will be encrypted and most likely safe.
