I generally prefer looking at the positives and encouraging them over picking out negatives, it's just a personal way I approach most things. Not saying I don't pick bad things out, if you read my feedback you would spot I mentioned I believed some moderators were a little less active than most would prefer, but yeah.

Really solid feedback though x339, agree with a large majority of it. Specially regarding Verts. You and I are lucky we get to see her a little more than some regular users, she's great.

Well juggling university, work, a girlfriend, a social life and Sythe isn't as easy ad you'd think.
I don't really see how I got less involved, maybe it's because I post on ideas in the SL instead of in public, I don't really see the need to say things twice.
Considering the amount of stuff I do, I still do what I did when I wasn't a mod, which was stay very active in the support section, the only thing that's different is I now move/close/delete/approve etc threads in support and off-topic and do a few scam reports now and then. I stopped posting in the donor lounge because Laptop posted after every single post I made in there and I got fed up with it. I also volunteered for Community development as that is what I'm more involved in, but I decided to not do it for certain reasons which only a few staff members know. I was always on Sythe for the community, I'm not really a trader, that's why I don't do scam reports that often, as I don't have the trading knowledge to do most. I stick to my sections and occasionally post elsewhere as I always have.

Quite right, Shoop. I think you're one of the best sectionals on the team.

Just wanted to add that I've seen a difference already. Props for taking the constructive criticism on board and posting around a bit more last night & today.

I'd just like to touch on this. Part of the reason why I didn't continue to reply was two fold. 1) Its rude to talk about other members and "specify which ones I believe should be here", and 2) I don't want to argue in public, it doesn't make anybody look good.

But thankyou for all your other feedback.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to leave feedback for everyone :)

Secondly, it'd be cool if you could elaborate on me "not being here". I'm not taking offence, over the 4 years I've been on staff I've gotten a lot of feedback like that, but never really asked why. I'm on everyday for at least 30 mins, so is it posts? I'm just unsure. Thanks!

This does a pretty good job explaining it.

From a feedback thread on me:

Also, the idea of "taking up space" on the staff doesn't really make sense.

X339, this is all pretty good, and as I'm fairly new here, I can't really deny or agree to everything. But everything stated seems on the dot other then a few thigs here and there.

Blupig; By not being here is probably because of things like 1) Not seeing you post a lot. 2) Never seeing you community involved.

Personally Blupig, I've only seen you around a few times.

Pockets; What he's saying is you're inactive. You're never here. You're taking up a position that someone who is more active and able to do what is needed and more can have. Or fill in for even.

The staff have a quota of modlogs that they must reach each month. If Pockets wasn't reaching these targets set by the administrators, then he wouldn't be on the staff, he'd be demoted for inactivity. He's obviously reaching these targets. Check through his recent posts, he has a reasonable amount of Spam Reports completed.

Not saying that he should only be doing Spam Reports, but you can't say he isn't doing anything.

I know they have a quota, "What he's saying is you're inactive. You're never here. You're taking up a position that someone who is more active and able to do what is needed and more can have. Or fill in for even." Barely ever see Pockets going around posting everywhere. Anywhere really. He could be doing more then meeting his quota, and that's supposed to be what's expected.

Moderators are chosen to be active in the community as well as maintain their section, correct?

If he's only scraping by with his quota, I see no reason why he should not just be put in suspended staff since he can't contribute as much time as he'd like to sythe.

I'm new but I agree on the inactivity part. If you are unable to keep a balanced engagement time with the forums you should resign until you are able to do so. Problems with inactivity staff is stuff being done slowly, I can see this being a problem so I can see where x339's attitude is going when he gives his concerns about the activity of most staff. You want a forum to move smoothly, not slowly. Good feedback sir

If you were, say, an employer and you were looking for a new member of staff to fill a vital role, which would you rather:

    Person A
Coasted all his exams with minimal effort, and still managed to get amazing grades.

    OR

    Person B
Worked his ass off for several weeks and months to get his grades, found it tough but always looked for new ways to improve his role and did all he could to succeed. Eventually, through continuous hard work he got his desired goals.

I know I'd opt for person B. The mod who fulfils the standard requirement plus does that bit extra.

The majority of the time, every new staff member is Person B at one point, but then issues and commitments get in the way and a members activity gets reduced. If it's happening for a very long time then yes I believe they should go on suspended staff then.

& it's been awhile. He's just meeting his quota to cling onto the rank. I'm not sure if he has commitments, or if he's just too lazy to pitch in for the site anymore.

Pockets: Sorry for bashing on ya.
