Why are we bored with RS?

Yea I remember when I was always questing on my main. After the QP cape I started getting bored but everyone was so nice and needed help with quests, so I'd help out. But now everyone is just a little dick to eachother... I removed all my friends on the list cause they changed too......

I think you're right as well. I base everything off money but in USD value. I lose 1M and instantly fell like I lost about $.50 haha. But when I go to make money it isn't interesting anymore because I know I can just buy it in under 4 minutes...

 

Agree with a lot of these, i think a lot of people get bored when they play continuously for a prolonged period of time;

I think if you're only getting bored after 7-8 years, Jagex have done pretty well, I played between about 2004-2007/08 and ended up quitting due to other interests, but i came back a few months ago and started from scratch and im having a great time, i think EOC will be a step in the right direction as although the past was great, games have to adapt and change, so at least Jagex are updating the game, and it will possibly make it more fun for some of the veterans.

The best way not to get bored is take breaks every so ofen, train your own skills by hand, and dont focus your energy on getting 200m exp, go back to the core principles and just do something in RS because its fun to do, its much more satisfying playing it this way

 

I think the novelty wore off. I remember it being the most exciting thing in the world back in 2005, but the game has obviously taken a nosedive (including the community) and as we grow up it seems more of a waste of time.

Not gonna lie, I still get a certain level of nostalgia from seeing old videos and such.

 

Its not interested for me because when i joined RS I joined in classic. So thats what got my attention and thats what I liked to play. Now they have all these updates its like playing a new game every month. Not what I want to do. I just want the game I enjoyed playing when I joined to play.

 

No Motivation. I'm trying to get all of the hybrid sets atm but all the kids/trolls/bots kill the mood.

 

I feel like I hold on to the past too much when it comes to runescape, I'm not sure if I enjoyed the game so much back in 2004 because I was young or because the game was amazing, now it just feels like the game is nothing what it used to be, as new updates come out, older things in the game are much more pointless, like barrows minigame, things like that. But I guess i'm still playing!

I also dislike the graphical changes.

 

Skills such as Crafting, Fletching, Smithing, etc. were all mundane to begin with. Now they serve hardly any purpose, if any purpose at all. Especially to members with 2400+ levels; they are purely money pits. I still enjoy the game, but a handful of skills serve absolutely no beneficial purpose to me. Why Jagex is focused on two new skills baffles me, they should revamp the existing ones before making additions. It bores me and annoys me at the same time because I honestly want to see more content poured into them.

 

The reason I'm bored of RuneScape is because I have enough money that anything I do besides stake is boring and a waste of time.

 

For my RS got boring when I started flipping gold. The game to me used to be so much fun to possibly get a PK of even dharoks worth approx 3 mil. PKing was the only thing I really enjoyed, and I would do it for money as well as to pass time with friends. The whole point of RS is to slave train your account to look cool and to make money, but I bot and buy/sell GP which does that for me. RS still has the potential to be fun, only if you haven't been tainted by the things I've mentioned though.

 

Because the old pvp system and attitude are gone
Because we grew up and it became harder to immerse ourselves in a fantasy world
Because our IRL friends stopped playing
Because it's one of(the?) most grindy game(s) out there
Because of new less exciting graphics
Because of the flooded MMORPG market
Because of the general attitude of the players nowadays

 

We're older now and realized that there is a real world out there waiting for us.

All the cool people quit.

 

All people really care about is how much gp they have and maybe pking.

-Dicing clans
-Gambling games
-Rares (If there was no rares, there would be no reason to have 1b+ other than for skills. AND THAT WOULD TAKE AWAY THE REAL WORLD TRADING BY AT LEAST 50% IN MY OPINION.)

Are the main things that screwed up runescape FOR ME.

Getting quests done, skilling and minigaming isnt what it used to be.
