Is it worth it?

Im just now coming back to runescape and I'm wondering if it's worth it to make a granite mauler. If not what should I make and why?

 

It all depends on your reasons for coming back to the game. For the Pk'ing side of things, Maulers are okay, although they tend to be more effective when used with some other form of combat. From experience though, returning to the game by making a pure isn't the most fun thing in the world to do because all they can really do is PK, and if you suck at that, RS is boring.

You're probably best having this moved to the RS General section, where people will be more willing to give input on Maulers.

 

Well I. A pvper and I skill on my pkers so I won't be bored. Its just I don't know how pking is as I haven't done it in awhile, I also combo I go from rune scimmy to 2h to maul spec or scimmy to obby to maul. I'm good at it just don't know what I want.

 

As RsProd stated above, maulers or really any pkers are fun so long as all you really want to do is PK. The thing about a granite maul account is, you have two options, both located in the edgeville wilderness. You either Range > Gmaul or Skim > Gmaul, and that's pretty much it.

Things like hybridding wouldn't be all too effective for you, however it can be done.

There's possibility for it to get boring very soon. I too have my "cravings" to go PKing but after 3 minutes I'm just thinking to myself alright this is boring back to botting and doing other stuff.

The wilderness is pretty dead. If you're coming back for pking, I wouldn't advise it. If you disregard what I am saying, and proceed to start playing again with a new account... I'd make a Gravite 2H pker. You need 45 attack and 64 dungeoneering for it. Ideally, you would want high strength (80+) and 31+ pray if you plan on skulling with the G2H. Alternatively, you can always stay 1 pray, bring 100K cash or so every time you go pk, and fight unskulled. G2H is OP as hell in F2P. If you get 99 Strength and 31 Prayer you'll be smacking kids left and right.
