You are just looking stupid acting as though breaking the sound barrier is something done every day . That video shows a high jump, not quite in the edge of space quite a large distance gap between the two jumps and a very vital piece of information is being skipped, THAT GUY DIDNT BREAK SOUND BARRIER .

You do realize the speed of sound is a variable thing.

 

Not when it is through the same medium. Sound through air travels the same speed as sound through other air. Sound through other mediums such as metal, travel different speeds however. What the hell are you even talking about?
Even at 60,000 feet which is probably higher than when he hit his fastest speed, speed of sound is 659.8mph, faster than he ever went.

 

Temperature and density are actually big factors in the speed of sound through air or any medium.

 

We are talking about the speed of sound at sea level, check my edit anyways, realized that before I seen you posted.

 

Does that number account for temperature or just altitude.

And besides my point still stands, this isn't impressive. I mean kittinger's jump was done in 1960, I'd hope to god we'd be able to do 20k more feet in 2012.
