Individual Feedback for the Staff

Just some feedback for the last 4-6 weeks since I last posted some.

-Ryan -
Ever since your promotion, you've been a fantastic staff member. I'm actually not overly sure why so many people were surprised with your promotion, because ever since I've started getting active on Sythe I'd noticed you were an active, helpful and pretty neat member. Not to mention you were second or third for Augusts Member of the Month so the community must have felt the same. But yeah, ever since you've been promoted I've spotted you online daily and I've seen you do a fair share of reports on the Report a Spammer section. It'd be nicer if you had a little bit more input in the section itself, but that's my only criticism. Something I've really loved is that, even since your promotion, you're setting aside a lot of time for Community Development activities and events and it's great. Your contributions are invaluable and it's a pleasure to work alongside with you there. Something else I've also noticed is you work hard for Official Guide Verification which is also great to see. You're co-running it in Cosrobs absence so I'm really happy to see that. Thanks for everything you do and keep it up.

cosrob97 -
It's really great to have you back on the staff. Ever since you returned (A little prematurely in my opinion, you should have waited until after your exams but as long as you're confident :p.) Since you've come back, I've seen you being really active in the Our Community forums, which is really great. While I don't see you doing a load of Spam Reports (I'd Blame Dialatic :p) I see you moderating where you can. I'm very impressed by your work with Official Guide Verification. It's nice to see that you tried to revamp the process and you're fixing what is an important part of the Sythe Market. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to join you guys their too. Something else that deserves an obvious mention are your incredible detective skills. I've always known you've had it in you, even before you became a moderator (I remember you catching Hookups a couple of years back, that was impressive) but in the last few weeks you've managed to catch out several "Bad" people I guess and bring them to justice. Congratulations on your work lately. Oh, and again, good luck for your exams!

Dialatic -
I remember when you got promoted, I thought you were on an absolutely crazy modrush :p. I was sorta thinking "Oh, give it a couple of weeks and his activity will drop to a regular sort of level. We're around six weeks later on, and boy was I wrong haha. You've continued to run rampant around the forums and genuinely be a fantastic moderator, as well as a great guy. I see you on-line for hours everyday helping out where you can and fulfilling your moderating duties. I think the most impressive aspect of your moderating is your work in Report a Spammer. The amount of reports that you clean through is really impressive. I think almost all of my market reports have been handled by yourself, bar a few from video and Wulfy. Good work sticking to them, from what I remember they were a pain to do at times. I also just wanted to note that what MohtasaUnque and yourself has been doing in the Graphics forum is great. It's good to see you two working together in an attempt to revive things their. Graphics Saturdays hopefully will become a popular weekly event her eon Sythe.

Frenzy -
You've had a pretty strong September/Early October. Your activity and workload seems to be around the same as it was about a month ago when I last did some Staff Feedback, so it's good to see you've been consistently helping out. The best part about your work is your almost love for Spam Reports :p, you do a large chunk of them and they see, to be the thing that you do most regarding moderating. In particular, I believe you handle more RuneScape Spam Reports than any other moderator which is awesome to see. I've also noticed you stick your head into the Market Reports at time too and help out clearing those too. Props to your work in Report a Scammer too, always worth mentioning. Overall you've been working pretty hard, it'd just be nice to see you posting around a little more regularly throughout the community and in the RuneScape section helping members out.

malakadang -
I'll start with the positives first. While it seems sometimes like you're never around and you're completely inactive, you just have to flick through your recent posts to spot that you are actually around on days to clean out a majority of the Off-Topic Reports and whatever Market Reports are left, so that's good to see. I also see that on the odd occasion you pop by the Report a Scammer in order to help out the Globals and clear a chunk of reports, so props for that. I know that you'd also have behind the scenes work with Staff Lounge discussion and whatnot so it's not like you're not doing anything. I think it's just because whenever most members or myself look down at the Currently Online Users I/We never really spot you on. I'm not sure if you you use invisible mode but it just seems that you're not on very often. It'd also be nice to see you posting around the community a little more, although I guess you need to put your moderating duties first. I know that you're busy with school, so I guess you're not doing bad.

Pockets -
Your activity is a little bit like Malakadangs. Unfortunately, I hardly see you around the forums just posting around, which I really wish you could do. I remember towards the start of this year and when I was lurking last year you were very active throughout the forums, noticeably in Community General. You entered competitions and that sort of thing which was really cool, I'd love to see that again when things in real life die down. I know you have a pretty busy schedule with school and everything so I can understand why you don't have the time to do that sort of stuff anymore. When I speak to you on MSN I know that you really do want to work hard on Sythe so I can tell you actually are busy. When it comes to moderating tasks you actually do a fair amount of Spam Reports, which is good to see. I know you must have Staff Lounge behind the scenes stuff too so you must be doing a reasonable amount of work. Hopefully we can see you back soon in full flight soon.

Shoop -
Sythe's one and only Support Mod! Personally, I feel you're very under appreciated. You're one of the more active moderators on Sythe. I see you online every day and it's normally not just for the odd couple of minutes or so but at least an hour or two of activity. Over the last month, your activity's been at around the same level as it was when I posted some feedback last time and it was very positive then. Pretty much any reports that I send your way are handled within the day which proves how active you are. Even when something isn't reported, you're always there prowling the section ready to close or move threads. It's also nice to see that, not only are you moderating your section well, you're actually replying to some threads and helping out yourself which is cool. Good to see you also chipping in with the Off-Topic workload every now and then too. I see you moving a fair few questions that a better suited for Help and Requests or Sythe Support from there too. Keep it up buddy, no criticisms :)

Superman -
Surely the next candidate to be a Global moderator, hands down. When comparing your activity to a couple of months ago, I believe your activity is slightly lower than what it was at last month but you're still doing an exceptional job. First thing I'd like to throw out is any "Attitude problems" you may have previously had are non-existent now. It seems like you're being a fair and kind moderator now and I haven't really seen anything offensive come out of you over the last couple of months I've been back. Onto moderating, you're everywhere. I see you cleaning out a reasonable amount of Spam Forums, generally in the market. The main area where you've been shining is the Report a Scammer. You've cleared out loads of Scam Reports and Ban Evader reports this month. I think it was you and n4n0 who at one time managed to get it cleaned out completely. I see you around in the Dispute Forum a lot too, posting on a majority of High Pardons and help out with most disputes. You've been around for a while now, and your experience on these forums is really starting to show. Keep working hard Superman.

sypherz -
When I last gave some feedback I remember giving you a really glowing report and thought you were doing a fantastic job. In the last month or so, I've seen that you do so much more than I thought. I see you online everyday, generally for hours at a time. You've got a crazy different timezone to me even so you must be even more active than what I can see. You do some reports, work in the Disputes forum a bit but how you really shine is with your work in the community. Normally, I see you posting everywhere which is awesome. The two things that I've recognised about you lately are first, all the work you're putting into Community Development. Most other people can't see this but you're always chipping in some great ideas and working with the rest of the team to put them into action. The second is your work in the OGV. You along with -Ryan work really well and help Cosrob out a lot in that area. Expect a lot of questions coming from me. :p

They be trippin -
For the guy with the lowest post count on the Staff Team, you're pretty active. To start off, I see you online more than a majority of moderators, at least once everyday. You also take care of a fair chunk of the Off-Topic reports and you also do a little bit of the community reports. (Well, whatever Wulf or Cosrob leave behind :p) Maybe the only thing you could really improve on is some work in the Dispute forum or the Report a Scammer. You post around the forums a little bit and get involved with the community, but perhaps not as much as you did last month. Not really sure what else there is to say so I'll leave it at that haha.

Tmoe -
It felt like throughout a part towards the end of September you were getting kind of inactive, but now I see you on a fair bit. I've got a feeling that you may use invisible mode, because I never see you in the Currently online users but I always manage to spot a post around from you somewhere. I've noticed you manage to complete the odd amount of reports which is great, specially seeing some of the newer moderators are continually cleaning them out not leaving many left for some others :p. I've also seen that you often venture into the Dispute Forum or the Report a Scammer to help out with Scam Reports plus disputes and pardon requests. Thanks for some of the help you've been giving the Community Development team lately as well. You've definitely got an extensive amount of Sythe and Market knowledge and you can be very mature when need be, these I feel are your biggest benefits to the staff. (At least what I believe.)

video -
You deserved to become a moderator so much when you were promoted. I think I said that in my last feedback post but whatever :p You definitely do a large chunk of the moderating that needs to be done within the Market section. Other than Dialatic, you've probably been the most active with Reports in the Report a Spammer over the last month (At least from the reports I've sent off) which is great to see. Props to you for all your work in the Dispute Forum too working on threads. The most recognisable "talent" of yours has gotta be your detective skills. Along with Cosrob, you've managed to catch many evaders and self-vouchers throughout the forums, particularly from those appealing bans and creating High Pardons, great work getting your hands dirty and getting involved with all of that. You're still around in the community a bit which is nice to see and I spot you shopping around in the market on the odd occasion which is cool to see as well. No criticisms at all, keep working hard :)

Wulfspade1 -
Wulfy! I've always felt you and I are very similar in a way haha. Anyways moving on, you're super active. On everyday, when i pop on in the mornings before school to check up on things I see you on, when i come home afterwards, you're on. On the weekends when I have a few hours during the day, guess who's on, Wulfy! You're definitely all over the place. You do a huge load of Spam Reports related to the market and our community sections. I've also spotted you doing your fair share of Scam Reports, good to see more sectionals relieving the Globals workload while there's only seven of them. Good work in the Dispute forum too Wulf, specially in the High Pardon Section. You're definitely a community orientated person, and that can be seen from all your work with the Community Development. You're probably one of if not the most active members on the team. Props to you for everything you've done in the short time you've been back on the team!

yaroow -
The kid on the block :p, I share the same view as those who thought that believed your promotion was definitely overdue. For years now I've spotted you contributing to the Off-Topic Forum so being a moderator there definitely suits you. It's kinda hard to give you as much feedback as the other moderators because you're new so don't feel that because your section is shorter than the others you're doing a bad job or anything :p But generally I see you online everyday and you're pretty active in the forum you moderate. You're knocking out a good chunk of the Spam Reports that are found in your section which is awesome to see, specially seeing there are five moderators there who have permissions. You're a funny guy, but know when to be mature and sensible. Other than that, not too much else to say other than keep it up man :)

Sectional Overview
Just like I said last month, Sythe still has one of the most active groups of sectionals I've ever seen. Considering that there hasn't been any drama among the sectionals (Historically there has been a bit I guess) the same team's managed to remain and you're all quite an experienced bunch. Good work to all of you sectionals who've been continually helping out with what are traditionally Global Only activities and duties such a Scam Reports, Disputes, etc. Also I want to add that there seems to be a really good balance in this team. Everything's cleared out at the moment, Scam Reports, Disputes, I assume Spam Reports too because they're done so quickly, so you're definitely not understaffed. The balance extends to members who moderate as in do lots of Spam Reports and Staff members who help out around the community too. Pretty much what I'm saying is perfect group of sectionals, you can't do anything to make it better.

Blupig -
You're a pretty cool guy. My feedback post is probably going to be a lot like the one I wrote out for you six weeks back but your activity and whatnot has pretty been pretty consistent. I'm still in awe that after being on this site for six years you're still around as a moderator and still willing to help others out so much. As for activity, I see you on most days which is always cool to see. You're not so much a "Moderating" moderator if that makes sense. You don't leap into Spam Reports or Scam Reports or Disputes and sort through hundreds a day like some moderators, you more or less contribute to the community through posts and whatnot. Your experience with programming and software seems to be pretty invaluable to the community so props for that. It's hard to give feedback for Globals seeing you have behind the scenes work so if you're keeping up with banning accounts for sectionals and voting in all the polls and that sort of thing, good work Blupig! If not, pick it up :p But yeah, you seem pretty active so I'm sure you are doing all those things.

Clashfan -
I can't really give you much feedback. I know that you're being excused for most of your inactivity because you're really busy with real world stuff like school or Uni (I can't remember I saw a post somewhere about it.) So yeah. You seem to come online a bit and make a few posts. I see you handle the odd Spam/Scam report or dispute so it looks like you're trying to do a bit where you can. Hopefully you're keeping up with all the Behind the Scenes stuff all the Globals need to do like Bans/Polls, etc. Hopefully we'll be seeing you back in full flight soon.

djweasal -
Considering your current situation where you don't have a computer or laptop or anything other than your iPhone to post off, you're doing an absolutely fantastic job. I remember trying to do reports or even post off my iPod touch once, never again. The fact that you're putting up with all the pain it puts you through really shows your character and that you're willing to help out around the site. Besides, anything you fall behind in during the week you easily make up for on the weekends. Today as soon as you logged on you were rampaging through the forums trying to make up for lost time. When you can get on, you do a great deal of work in the Report a Spammer as well as the Dispute Forum. I've never seen much work in Report a Scammer, but that's almost always cleared out anyway. I know that on top of that, you'd be doing your best to fulfill your Global, Behind the Scenes work so props for all the bans and polls and staff discussions you work on that the community can't see. Keep it up, hopefully you'll be able to get more active during the week sometime soon.

Karl -
Karl! Like Blupig, you're not exactly as much as a "Moderating" moderator these days. On occasion you may stop by to contribute to a Dispute or High Pardon in the Dispute Forum but that's generally it. What you actually do a lot of is posting around the community and sorting things out such as rules, drama and other issues around the forums. For activity, I feel it's dropped a little bit over the last 6 weeks or so, at least around the general forums. I still see you online almost every day. I assume that because you're so good at dealing with drama and discussions and whatnot, that you are an invaluable contributor when it comes to things like Staff Lounge discussions and polls. You seem to be getting all these raving reviews from administrators so you must be doing a lot of behind the scenes work ;) Not really too much more I can add really.

MohtasaUnique -
Your name is really fun to say. Anyways, moving on, over the last six weeks your activity has picked up loads from when I posted your last little bit of feedback. As the Graphics moderator, you did some awesome work running Signature of the Week as well as keeping the Graphics Forum running smoothly and making sure it stays alive. Since you've been promoted to Global, it's great to see you working alongside Dialatic with Graphics Saturdays. Not only do you do this, I still see you actively posting around the Graphics Gallery providing feedback and giving handy little tips to members. As for moderating, I see you handling some Spam Reports on occasion, generally the ones that only Globals can do. On top of all this I know that being a Global you have Behind the Scenes work like Polls and Discussions and banning members for sectionals so good work and a really solid month.

n4n0 -
Sythe's number one machine, taking over from FireZ it seems :p. The workload that you manage to dig through is absolutely incredibly. First, we'll start with activity. You're online for hours and hours on most days, basically almost always whenever I'm on. The fact you've been on the staff for a year and a half shows that you have a real love for this site and that you work really hard. On a personal level you're great fun to talk to and can crack me up at times. Thanks for all those times you've helped me out when I've PM'ed you or asked you on MSN for a hand with something. Speaking of MSN, don't ever scare me like that again ;) As far as moderating goes, again, you're everywhere. I don't think there's a thread you leave unturned and you're always making sure people are following the rules and whatnot. I see you dealing with Disputes and Pardons and some reports on occasion too. Again, like all Globals, you have your behind the scenes duties that I know you are always fulfilling (You always say you love Staff Lounge :p) so good work for that. Anytime drama or major issues come up you're always in the thick of them trying to sort them out. Thanks for everything you've done on this website.

SuF -
Looks like you're gonna be voted by the community as the Best Debater/Most intelligent member of the month. Personally, I agree. Again, like Karl and Blupig, you're not the sort of moderator who rampages through the forum locking and closing and banning everything that breaks the rules like n4n0 or FireZ or Superman, you're more of a member who sits back in the community and sees how you can improve it and make it better. Your work with the Market Redesign was really impressive and the outcome of it was really top quality, I don't believe it would've been the same without all your planning. Thanks for taking the time to ask the Community what they want too. You have a great mind and you seem to always have a new suggestion or way to improve the site which is really cool to see. You're quite community involved too, and you seem to get along with most members of the site. Activity-wise, you're on most days from what I can see. Again, I'm sure that like the other Globals you're keeping up with all your behind the scenes work. Oh, and you have a mancrush on Obama :p Good work :)

Global Overview

Considering there are seven Globals, you guys definitely dig through a lot. Basically all the work that needs to be done around the forum is either done, or gets done within a few hours. I think that you guys can thank the Sectionals a little bit for taking a large chunk of your work with the Scam Reports and Disputes, but as long as it's done I don't think anyone really minds. Temporary bans done by sectionals generally turn into permanent bans within hours, sometimes minutes, which shows you guys are active and working hard. I said it for most of you guys, but I'll say it again, I know you guys generally have a large chunk of behind the scenes work, so good work to you all of you're keeping up with it. Like with the sectionals, there's a good balance with the Globals. There's rampaging moderators like n4n0 who keep everything clean, and moderators like SuF and Karl who take the quiet approach and work with the community and suggest new things. Basically, everyone just keep up what they're doing. :)

FireZ -
Mr. Banhammer himself. Your conditions in real life seem to have changed a lot since what they were like in late 2010 and early 2011. If I'm correct you don't work at a Hotel anymore, and when you were at work that was when you managed to get most of your workload as a Sectional/Global done. Now you have two jobs that you can't access Sythe at (I Believe) so I can understand that you can't be as active as you once were. Regardless, it's not common to see an Administrator active throughout the entire forums and with the community like you are, so props to you for still managing to keep a hold of that. On occasion, you still get to go on your little "Freestylin" moves and you manage to flick the Beast mode switch to on which is cool to see. Good work still being able to help out with most Disputes and weeding out that bad Pardons. Other than that, not too much else to say. One slight criticism would be that, while we need some moderators with a "No Bullshit" attitude, sometimes you do come off quite harshly and I personally don't like it, but I can see when at times it may be necessary.

Govind -
It's sometimes quite difficult to provide feedback for you, as being an Administrator and the Head of Administrators/Staff generally means your work is behind the scenes and private to the regular users eye. All I can say is you run the administrators, and the administrators run the staff. And the staff at the moment are absolutely perfect. (See my Sectional and Global Overviews.) Good work, you've made some excellent choices in your time as the Administrative supervisor. You also deserve to be mentioned for your projects, rule changes, and that sort of thing. Last time I provided feedback I thanked you for restitution, this time it's for the updates you've provided to the pardon system. Good work on sorting out some of the issues related there. Also, thanks for always helping to clear things up with the community One Example being the issue with Finn and his eBook. You were very honest with the situation and provided a good response. Thanks.

Matthew -
Being the Second in charge and head of donations, all I can say is donations are running smoothly and the forums in good shape. Donations seem to be running really well, whether through your options or the options provided by some members in the community. They're all approved pretty quickly from what I've recognised too. When there was an issue with the system, you leaped into it and fixed the issue quickly and the member was able to walk away happy with there problem fixed. I hear that you're working on an upgrade to the Donation Centre, I can't wait to see the final result.

Nick -
I don't see you around the forums too much, but I've heard from others that you do much more than everyone seems to think. Apparently, you're active in the staff lounge and work really hard when it comes to things like discussions and whatnot. I know you also have your administrative responsibilities such as banning I.Ps and awarding TwCs. You seem to post around the community a bit and it's always nice to see your face around. Not too much more I can say really.

Sythe -
Your activity around the general forum has really picked up a lot over the last 4-6 weeks. It's always awesome to see the forums owner around the forums posting around and just mucking around the community in general. I sometimes get pretty surprised when I see you trolling around in the Spam Forum. I did want to mention, I haven't had a server issue in a couple of months. I don't know what you did, but it's working and I love being able to use Sythe without interruption from pesky errors. I know you're working hard on vB4 too at the moment and i really hope we can get that released soon and the styling issues are solved. Not too much more I feel I can say other than keep it up, your forums going good in my opinion :)

Verts -
I know things are really busy with your life at the moment with your Job and your boyfriend and just general life, so your activity really is pretty great. Whenever I need to PM an Administrator your normally my first choice now cause you always get back to me really quickly and always seem to be willing to give me a helping hand. You deserve mentioning for your work with the Community Development, it's great that you're leading it and you've done pretty well helping to run it so far. I see you posting around a bit within the community and the Spam Forum and such and I know you're a keen IRC user, so it's nice to see that you care about the little members of Sythe. Also, I know you have administrative duties that are behind the scenes like banning I.Ps, discussions, TwCs, polls, etc, so if you're keeping up with all them too, great work. Keep it up Verts, you're doing awesome!

Administrator Overview
There isn't really too much I can see for the Administrators overall. There's six of you and all of your duties are (or seem to be) being handled pretty quickly and are done well. You guys have a great staffing team, so your choices for staff members have all been top quality. Good work with some of the recent changes and additions such as Community Development, re-doing pardons and restitution. I know all of you play a part in these decisions. Not really much else to see. Good work guys.

Thank you and trust me I try to do a much as I can when I am on. My GF wasn't big on me being on my iPhone after work all night but now she realizes I'm doing bans and spam reports. I don't really do scam reports as it a lot of work on an iPhone.

This is the kind of feedback I like to see, not because it's positive or negative, but because it's actually informative and complete, and you obviously put time and truth into it.

Thanks for the words, I deeply appreciate it.

Ahk, that might explain things a little bit. Seeing I was only pardoned 9 months ago that might be why I've never spotted you down there :p

If you're trying to say I made this cause I'm trying to become a moderator than it isn't. You were a moderator once, I'm sure you, like me, remember how positive feedback would empower you and make you work harder. Also, seeing they spend hours and hours moderating these forums for free the couple of hours taken to make this thread is pretty minuscule.

Don't know whats more stunning, the fact brenden would spend the best part of an hour typing all that out or that people like Travis donate ridiculous amounts to the site. Anyway..

Why do we have mods that go 'Invisible mode' ?

Step down if you have other priorities and someone else can have a go and then you can just resume when your ready, right?

There's nothing wrong with people donating a lot.

They can still get the work done but they won't get pm's from members asking for help and whatnot so they can concentrate on Spam Reports etc.

Fingers crossed we'll see more of you soon :)

This isn't honest feedback. This is more of a "let's see how much dick I can suck in one go". Nobody is perfect, and this feedback makes everybody seem that way, when in reality looking around, half the mods don't have their own opinion, they are simply following the opinions of the most popular person on staff, even for the worse. I've been browsing around for awhile and just made an account. I've seen numerous times threads get locked without further discussion because a moderator takes it personal. It's really hard to manage a site when half the moderators would leave that thread open for discussion, and half of them would close it.

Here's a tip: Don't take things personal, keep your duties and personal issues separated completely. Treat the person your talking to like you would Sythe, always stay professional while on the job. A walmart employee (staff) wouldn't be laughing at someone because he's fat right in front of there face, or be calling someone a moron to there face for asking what a slippery when wet sign is (TWC).

Here's a tip to brendan and other people posting this crap: It won't help the site any, so just quit it.

Here's some feedback for the community admins

- You guys really need to get the show on the road. I've never heard a "were working behind the scenes" excuse over at Powerbot before. From what I see it, I don't even know who the Community admin is right now.

So is this how it goes?

Firez - Community Admin (Events, Community, Duties)

Verts - Promoter (Social Media, Events, Community)

Govind - Programmer (Coding, Technical Issues, Site Management)

Nick - I really have no clue, the secretary? (Relays Useful Info?)

Sythe - Owner (Manager, Head Honcho)

Feedback for Sythe (owner)

I personally think the amount of staff you have for the site is unhealthy. The amount of professionalism in the staff at the moment is almost a joke. You need to get a decent team together that can do more than just talk, for this site to progress any further. 3/4 of the staff are in the same timezone, and on top of that, moderate the same exact section. The key to building a strong community is a good team of staff, and lately I've just seen disagreements and arguing.

I read x339's thread, I seriously think a lot of you don't like him because he has good ideas, and then use it as an excuse every single time he says something.
