Sythe.org Guild Initiative

Hello everyone. We are in the process of launching a new Community Development Team project. If you're unsure what the community dev team is:

The project we are launching today is the Sythe.org Guild Initiative​

What is it?

We are looking for dedicated members to launch Sythe.org guilds in various games. We want to expand outward in to other games, and we hope that this project will help bring in new members, while also giving life to other games areas of the site.

How it works:

We are looking for 1-3 dedicated members (per game) to start up a guild. Your job will be to use the guild to recruit new people in game, and to the site. In various games such as WoW, GW2, SWTOR, Rift, and Aion, guilds create websites for their members to use. We want you to use Sythe.org as your website.

Guidelines:

• This is open to anyone, for any game. Even if it is some random game barely anyone plays, you can apply for it.
  
• Do not limit the guild to only current Sythe.org users. The purpose is to find new people in-game to bring to the Sythe.org community.
  
• Do not limit the guild in-game (i.e. don't only invite high level players, because the guild will never succeed). You need to be open to anyone joining, because a gamer is a gamer, it doesn't matter what level they are. They are still people that we want on the site.
  
• If you're worried about RWT rules in-game, don't be. You're not promoting RWT. It would be a different story if your description was something like "Check out Sythe.org, an awesome black market", but that's not what we want you to do. We want you to simply have a guild name something like "Sythe" and we want you to tell your members that this is the guild website. People will ask about it, but you don't have to worry about getting shut down for RWT since you're not actively promoting it.
  
• Don't be afraid to promote your guild elsewhere. If you feel posting on other forums or doing other non-traditional advertising methods will help the guild grow, then go ahead and do it.

I run a Guild in WoW with over 550 members.

 

Can you get the sythe name out?

 

Game: RuneScape
Co-Leaders (up to 2 allowed): We'll see.
How often do you play this game?: Daily, 8-10 hours.
Previous experience in this game: Played since 2001; came back March of this year and started from scratch. Seen it all.
Why would you be a good guild leader?: Although I'm a 10HP pure, I know how to handle situations and adapt quickly.

Not sure if RS is even plausible, but thought I'd throw it out there.

 

Would you consider adding RoTMG? I wouldn't mind as I've still got a decent account, and I'm sure n4n0 still has his as well. A few others such as Beever, yourself[x339] and others come to mine.

 

I'm thinking of playing this again, I'd be happy to start this up again

Game: Realm Of the Mad God

How often do you play this game?: I used to play nearly every day. Now I am starting, every day again.
Previous experience in this game: I was the best. I've been playing for a while I'm 100% up to date with the game though, and have a lot of experience in almost all fields.
Why would you be a good guild leader?: I'd be happy being co-leader or leader, BSGP is a great candidate for leader if you feel I'm not up to it.

 

Would start playing again for this reason.

 

I have an alt account in there as an officer still as well. I pulled my main out for another clan though.

 

I'd be happy to help out . I've actually got access to a new client that's safe for realm so those who play with the client can come back.

I think a great add to this whole project would be an either official or unofficial Sythe teamspeak. I really think especially with the idea of team gameplay it would really help out.

Considering we are looking to open a guild for every game possible, it might not be a good idea to use a teamspeak for speaking about one or two games. Maybe individual team speaks for each guild that is established.

 

This is an AWESOME idea, can't wait to get involved!

I can't really see a lot of people going for this, I mean most people are probably already in guilds in their favorite games, with established friends.

 

I've tried, and I hate to say it but I'm not willing to be like "Oh you can go buy cheap WoW gold there" and there isn't really anything else I can say to attract them here. Maybe if there was a way to establish some kind of forum where I could direct recruiting towards there, but at that point it would almost be inconvenient for everyone, idk.

 

Well, with a TS, you can have multiple channels for multiple games, server admins, etc. It would work with just one TS because you can separate channels for different games as well as have a lounging area.

 

Why not just direct them towards the WoW forum we have in the other games section?

 

Only way I can see this happening is if we were to purchase a Ventrilo server with 250 slots, and then we would split that up by Guild / Game. That or, establishing a section for a Guild, then when I'm recruiting people they would have to come to this site to register in order to post on the thread / threads.

There just isn't a lot of motivation for people to go from in-game to here. I can't tell my raiders to come here to look at strats or for gear information because there are already websites that do that. If people want to talk about WoW, they generally already will use the Official Forums frequently, use MMO-Champion in regards to talking about updates, or go to Ownedcore to talk about glitches / exploits. I can't say "Oh if you want to buy gold look here" because I'll get banned.

I've tried to get a few that have expressed intrest to me personally to come here, but it has never worked out, they just lose intrest.
