Pardon System Changes

Good job on this I don't agree with the time limit but I've posted my reasoning on the other thread.

Several staff posted saying they supported the pardon on the condition that the victim be paid back. They were paid back, and eventually enough support was gathered for the pardon to be sent to voting. However, the thread was not sent to voting even after firez and video posted saying that it should have been sent already, due to the apparent ambiguity of the staff who's support was dependant on the victim being repaid.

Shouldn't it be that if a staff member posts saying they support on the condition that the user pay back those that were scammed, the user automatically receives their support upon paying what is owed?
The instance I gave really never bode well with me. It wasn't very fair that godsgeneral's pardon was essentially ignored even after an administrator posted saying it should be sent to voting.

Yes, it was going to be sent to voting, until it was learned Godsgeneral was ban evading. If he had come clean to begin with perhaps, or if the staff did not find out, it obviously would have gone to voting.

Nice changes though.

 

well, the thing is he ban evaded while his pardon was still active, as he was frustrated at how long it was taking (although that doesn't justify him ban evading, but my point still stands)

Nice, some of those reforms were needed however I'm not sure about the 12 month limit.

 

Would like to see "Members are allowed to see the outcome of there pardon in the USL" with these changes. Good work anyway guys.

 

Everyone makes a big deal about the 12 month wait limit, but I believe the biggest reform is the third one, which will not allow TwC's or "Last Chance" for pardons. I always believed that if someone is going to be told that it was okay for them to spam, scam, whatever they did, they should be completely reformed and no longer a threat to our community. So now once they are pardoned, they have a clean record(Past offences remembered, obviously, just not pushed on them), which is how it should of been the whole time. Good work guys.

Do people get the point I was making now? When enough time passes, you can sweet-talk people into believing you're harmless with a sob story like that.

I have removed the time limit due to pressure from the staff, but I'm going to talk to Sythe about the concern here and see what his decision is.

 

Well yes, I understand that. But I mean, let's say we had another member who was banned in...2009 come back and realize we had a High Pardon system. What if they'd actually changed, hadn't been in any trouble since and were a contributing member, shouldn't they have an oppurtunity? I mean, I do agree with the rule. But only for members who were banned while the pardon system has been around - because they know the rules of pardons and that the system is there.

 

Not a big fan of all the changes. Although, what is currently listed is an improvement to what the OP originally had.

 

how about we make it that if you've scammed within like the last 3 years, you don't get a chance at a pardon?

 

That's too long when it could be easily settled with these rules.

That's how I felt. However the time limit was removed, at least temporarily.

Was the suggestion regarding two administrators requiring to Veto pardons really passed? Or was the whole veto thing on Lukef's pardon just a bit of a muck around?

 

It hasn't officially been implemented. Personally, I don't think it's really necessary.
