Is It Worth To Sell Floors (Key For Leechers)

Hi, well I basically got cleaned 1.2b like 5 months ago, and I rebuild to 300m, I got that 1.2b selling floors when they were at 3m now floors are at 1.75-2m I'm not sure if I should find a new money making way or keep selling floors, my skills aren't the best but I'm fairly good at keying and won't ever refund leeches because refund times are around 28 minutes unless I'm 2s3ling any suggestions if I should keep going or find a new money making method all feedback is appreciated!

 

It would be hard to sell floors with a low max total, unless you join one of the shitty dung clans. If you can get into ones like Leech Dream or Sell Dung, it's definitely worth it. There are always more leechers than keyers these days, so it's good to be the keyer and always have customers. These clans usually want 2100 total or more, but keyers have the benefit of not having to dung with randomers who drag down floor times and increase frustration levels immensely.

Two reasons reason floors are 2m each is because (A) they tend to be 2s3l instead of 3s2l. This way you split 6m total two ways instead of 6m total three ways; and (b) because with keybag and generally better understanding of Dungeoneering, floors are faster. The old days with 25 minute floors are no longer; most keyers can do 2s3l in less than 20 minutes. This increases the hourly floors yield, which increases their profits.

TL;DR: The old 3m/floor keying yielded about 6m/hr for the keyer. Now with 2m/floor, you get 1 more leech and faster floors so it's still 6m/hr.


As far as other moneymaking methods in RS, the only ones above 4m/hr are (A) Onyx farming via Kiln (with steel titan and an efficient approach); (A) Master Greenfingers/Juju Potion/Remote Farming Torstol runs which are limited to only a few a day; (C) efficient QBD hunting; and (D) daily shop runs which only make a few hundred thousand daily. Very skilled PKers can get more than 4m/hr as well, but it takes a lot of talent and a great deal of luck.

 

I am quite good at pking, had a rank in sell dung didnt like it, however I can get a rank in a different selling clan wit 1.75m aba 2m occ 3m warp, which is decent for me because I sold floors back in the day because before when 148 existed there would be close to 10-15 people sitting the dungeoneering lobby on w67 or w69. The majority of people dungeoneering were maxed, so you could dungeoneer with randoms and have one leech and would still get all the doors done with an average of 20 minutes. Low total keying is fine as long the gt stays on the crit path, and you have high totallers with you what usually happens. I'm wondering if I did 1s 1l and just advertised sl with 110 or 113+ could I do consistant 15-20 minute floors with my friends, but I havent dged with randoms forever I am scared they are a lot worse than before (they were never really that good) but yeah I made 1.2b off sell dung keying usually 2s3ling occults on my account with 4.5m splits and it would be around 25-30 minutes so 9m an hour which was very good. Now its around 6m an hour which is still really good but if the options you listed are the other options I think I'm going to stick to selling floors thanks!

 

What I've done is simply worked as many hours a week as possible in unison with my current schooling schedule and bought RSGP. That's my personal remedy as I'd rather spend hours in the game doing a particular set of things that I truly enjoy. I know it might not be the answer you're looking for but bare in mind it is one of the most efficient alternatives if you are able to put money to the side whilst tending to more important financial obligations.

 

I sell floors whenever I have leeches, but if I don't, I'm usually pvming. And really, if you and whoever ur selling with know what you're doing, unless you spawn an absolutely shit map u should always be under 28, easily. Also, your low total may be a problem here as you will occasionally get leeches you and ur partner can't cover, asking leeches to gt for skill doors and rooms slows down the floor, especially as they afk a lot. My verdict: get an acc with high total and sell on that or start training ur main.

 

I don't get maxed leeches as there isn't many anymore and I usually duo with friends that have high total levels. And even if we can't cover a door or two we have never ran into the case where it is under 11%, it very well could be but there usually is only one skill my duo partner can't do without a potion, thanks for the feedback thread can be closed now.

Selling floors is a good way to make money, max capes with 113+ hex'd can make almost 10m per hour!

 

I have considered selling floors for profit but the thought of mastering dung just put me off.

And yea, its worth it to sell floors still.

 

To be honest, if you've got the time, and the skills required, it's totally worth it. I've seen warpeds go for 4m, and if you can do 2-3/h, that's a lot of cash tbh.

 

Tbh I've sold warps for 6-7m in sell dung. Leeching used to be a lot more expensive but when the RS market crashes floors crash to because it's completely dependent on the people. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

 

Also, how much time do you have to put into this? It seems like you're knowledgeable about dung enough to have this offer as an option for money making, but it'll be difficult to just start up and bring your name out there as Kero said.

 

How much exp do they gain per floor, if you guys don't mind me asking?

 

Warps are 100-150k per floor depending on the floor and your prestige. They only sell for 3m each now though.

 

I feel like that price will rise with EoC though. Isn't the dung skill going to be completely different? If this is indeed a possibility, making a name for yourself now and then being know when EoC comes out and dung is potentially harder could bring in larger profits.

If anything, EoC will make it even faster to complete floors. Dungeoneering is so much easier in the beta so far. Hex is more powerful than it is now, special attacks make boss fights super simple, and they've removed Skeletal Trio as a cherry on top.

However, prices may rise because there may be more demand for chaotics. People who leech to 80 for a rapier will now need to leech to 87 for an offhand rapier; and the same is for offhand CCB, longsword, and so on.

 

i agree with kero here the demand for a second chaotic will become alot higher when the eoc hits as just a single rapier wont satisfy people anymore they will want two

getting back to the main question however i recommend you stick with leeching as it is a good steady course of income and you are training a skill at the same time and a 120 dung cape would seem pretty awesome

 

I think it would be worth it if you paid the deposit to go in Sell dung. I've been leaching for a while now on my pure and sell dung by far gets the most business.

 

I got my sell dung rank for 25m and didn't have to trial. And at the beginning EoC will probably get more floors, but after the first few months the demand will die down and floors will be cheap again.
