Warning to those using Instakill dart...

Hey all, as you know, one of the Sizzling Summer promotion rewards, if you remained a member for all of August and September, is the ability to choose 4 out of the Choose Your Fate items. One of these items happens to be an Instakill dart that, when used, 1 hit k0s whatever foe you use it on(outside of PvP obviously).

It's been confirmed that the item can be used on Jad, QBD, and Nex among many of the other monsters, the latter being one of the most popular choices right now(apparently with 'lines' outside of her for people to take turns). However, what a lot fail to realize is that, like other fighting situations, if multiple people happen to use them at the same time, only one person gets the drop while the others lose the dart(s) they used.

This is just a warning to people who may read here yet neglect to read RSOF(though it's common sense really); It is not a bug.

If anyone wants to use theirs on popular monsters, Nex especially, I'd highly recommend you wait until things die down before doing so, just so you know your dart(s) are safe.



Tl;dr Like other killing scenarios, only one person will get the drop if multiple use their darts on a foe at once, thus making the unlucky ones lose their dart(s) during the situation. So because of this, I'd recommend you wait until all of this nonsense dies down so you won't have to take the risk.

They would pull something like that, but eh it makes sense.

I think it's insanely cool that it can be used on monsters like Jad or the Kiln Cape guy thing person.

Hopefully it doesn't cause for a decrease in items like nex gear or sigils.

i burned all 4 of mine on corp this morning haha, no one was there so 4 20,000 hp kills

 

Using one on my skiller to do family crest and keeping one for nomad on my main

 

easier way to do it is d claw spec w/e before someone uses the dart and you automatically get the drop

I thought that kind of thing only worked for whoever deals the most damage? Either way, the dart instakills for ALL of the hp, it isn't like a 1 hit/1 hp type thing.

Also, this is really common sense to be honest. It's like that with other ways of fighting, why not with the darts also?

 

I hardly play RS anymore, but does anyone know if these work in Dungeoneering? Breaking floor records would be nice.

I meant that I doubt it would take whatever you hit with your claws and give you the kill over someone who's hit well near 30k lp. Unless of course you have tried this out yourself? D:

Well sadly there's been complaints on the forums about people not getting a drop or anything after multiples used their darts at once; they kept trying to convince themselves that it was a glitch, common sense aside.

 

i watched 3 of my friends do it, and piss people off.

Thanks for the info Jess, i bet a few people are gutted about losing them so quickly. Wonder if the prices of nex armour/boss rewards will drop? due to the fact everyone who was a member has the ability to kill 4 of any boss they choose.

 

I guess it depends on who all is lucky enough to get a good drop and who all has lost/continue to lose their darts due to not knowing something like this, lol.

 

Well I haven't received a single think this whole promotion time.. because I didn't resubscribe within 24 hours it was a little bit over.
