Will the EoC nerf pures and tanks?

 

Tanks are even better now though if they wear high tier armour with defense being a more important part with raising hit points, etc. Basically though if they vs other tanks it will be even, like currently. At that higher cb, if they vs lower defenses the tank will have the advantage.

 

One defence pures don't seem to be as good anymore, and will probably only really be effective against other one defence pures.

 

Well the EoC won't be released until atleast October 30th, because they say they've extended the Beta period to October 29th at least. So the release can't be in that time frame.

And the overloads and turmoil are still around if not the exact same according to a JMod. They said that yes the stat boosts are 116 instead of 125, and the turmoil %'s are lower, but that the mechanics and whole combat are changing and they will still be the same. People just think "Zomg lower numbers, I want my 100m I used on prayer back."

 

Would a summoning tank be affected by this? I'm in the middle of making one. 55 def, 56 summoning atm.

 

Basically you need high HP and Summoning, higher than your defense. This is because with the new equation of combat levels, HP and Summoning does not effect your combat level but the defense will.

 

When is the bot nuke/eoc expected to drop?

 

In my opinion high health without high defence is pointless, because the majority of your lifepoints will be produced by your armour.

 

Botany Bay will be out this month which is like an addition to the nuke. Still no word on when Optimus will be out. I think I heard EoC is expected to drop around X-mas but don't quote me on that.

High health is awesome in the EoC as it does not affect combat meaning you could be like level 20 with 99 hp. Skillers could have 99 hp and be level 3 theoretically. They could also have 99 prayer and summoning and be level 3 according to the combat level calculations.

i hate combat beta, the only good thing about it is (ex. u can open treasure trail rewards 1m times if you like and see what the ratio of getting a decent drop is)

 

This is beyond true.
Coming from a guy who pk's ALOT on my pures, I decided to try pking on EoC... and I honestly get wrecked..... I honestly feel this update is strictly geared torward the mains...

If the formula for the combat levels goes off of defense, obviously defense is your main tool for combat. All my fights had been with mains. Mains hybriding in EoC. Jagex, in my opinion, didn't take pures into consideration with this and really the only time you're gonna have a fair fight on a low def pure is if you're fighting another low def pure. Other than that, when the final release drops, expect to lose bank trying to pvp with this update. Have fun PvM'ing.

Guess I'd better turn my initiate/korasi acc into a main if worst comes to worst.

 

I feel that EOC makes it more of real-time skill based rather than computer generated luck.

 

this summed up what half the people have been saying..

the EOC will require skill because if you're more skilled at action bar well you'll do better obv.. just like any new skill/update.. give it a month.. watch the rants.. watch everyone test it.. then after a month or so everyone's becoming used to it and getting over it and it becomes a part of the game which if you're especially good at it from WoW for example you'll excel in pking and such so it becomes money making opportunity for players of the hard core gaming sort

Lol. Level 3 skillers are doomed.
Those that have fucked up and accidentally levelled one of their combat stats e.g 2 attack, and are still level 3 will be level 5.

 

ehh level 3 skillers will be now level 4 :| why such an ugly number -.-

 

Pures recently received a buff in the beta as each hp level gets you 40 lp instead of just 10.

 

What will be the best stats for pking aside from a maxed main?

 

Meh...honestly, I'm not looking forward to this new combat rework.

I'm not sure if I even want to play after all of RuneScape has changed to the beta too.
