Lol, the top comment right now is:

—which is surprising because they moderate the comments.

Someone asked the question: "Will there be another BAR (Banned Account Reinstatement) in the future?"

And neither of them knew what that was.
That didn't look too good. :/

I couldn't watch more than 5 seconds of that crap. The whole "Giving bot's 3 chances" shit is complete trash. If you're a real player, and you bot just once, you deserve to be perm banned on the first time you're caught.

From a player standpoint, I agree, it's a lot of chances for a throw-away goldfarming bot, however, Jagex wants your subscription money, so they give chances.

I think it's hilarious how many people dislike the video. These streams get SHOT down so quickly as far as like/dislikes go. I want them to get caught off-gaurd and asked a question that makes it obvious that all they care about is making money.

I understand why we think that—with the SoF and Soloman's General Store.
But removing free trade and nuking the bots last October are pretty extreme counter-examples. They lost lots of money because of those updates. And it sounds like they're going to remove bots again—at least for a while.

Not really. They were both attempts to bring money in. They attempted to regulate the economy with the GE so they could bring in a lot of new players and flush out all the botted resources. It is completely about money. It's like when that one really awesome band you like decides that they want to make more money so they go from playing punk to like bubble gum pop or something.

Yup, JaGeX is all about the dollar. But at the risk of making their game SOOO bot friendly? It's pathetic. Soloman's dildo store has already made them a lot. Probably more than the botting member accounts have in the past few months. Unlike the SoF buying spin option; I support the Soloman's Dildo Store because although you do have to pay with cash for items in it. The items give no in-game benefit, whereas the item's off the Squeal of Dicks do give an ingame advantage over people who can't afford said spins.

Obviously you didn't even watch the whole thing. They both stated very clearly that goldfarming accounts with have instant perm bans; no 3 strikes. The 3 chances is intended for normal player's accounts. They also stated that their system will be so quick to detect the bots that if someone does decide to keeping botting after the 1st temp ban, they aren't going to make much progress before they are slammed with another much longer temp ban. They are describing it to be so effective that you will be discouraged from continuing to bot because of how fast they ban you.

Even though they've had serious declines in revenue, every year from 2007 to 2011, and they admitted on camera that they lost millions from the Bot Nuke update. They stated that the first growth they've seen since 2007 has been in 2012, where they said they've seen a steady and consistent increase in growth as the year has gone on. They stated that the point of SoF and Solomon's store was to bring in extra revenue that would allow them to grow and hire more people. Jagex has literally doubled the amount of workers they have this year, and that means more people dedicated to different projects and developing new content. If you don't like SoF and Solomon's store because you think it's a money grabber, then don't use it. Jagex keeps these things in-game because they have systems of tracking what percentage of players use it, and the percentage is so high that Jagex would be completely daft to remove it. Ultimately the players are showing Jagex that they want it by using it and making purchases. If no players used these features, Jagex would quickly see that and would either remove them or change them drastically.

I agree completely, but they have a little bit of doubt that it will catch legit players using mouse keys of the sort. I'd suggest never using automated programs to help you on rs, even if it's built in. Assuming the bot watch was made by jagex I can see a lot of legit players being banned.

It's all just money making to them. They now offer a 3 chance system to botters, instead of an appeal, well to be honest is just them prolonging membership fee's and hoping they stop botting before they have to take action.

Lolled when they thought they could take down powerbot.

They can rofl. The owners and developers of Powerbot and Epicbot are breaking IRL laws by creating and distributing their bot client. It's a DMCA violation, and it's a violation of Jagex's ToS. Jagex stated they are going to press civil and criminal charges on Powerbot and Epicbot's developers/owners. They even mentioned each owner's specific IRL name.

Gerhard mentioned Optimus as their Bot Nuke, Botany Bay as an add-on to their automated detection system. Essentially Gerhard said that all 3 of those will be released around the same time. According to the calendar and when Jagex normally does updates, it *should* theoretically be released sometime next week.

Also, OT, Jagex has already launched a teaser, adbots have been raped all to hell (many of them falling to the ground and choking, then dying, as well as many of them blowing up... I'm serious). Many many heavily botted areas are either free of bots or have very little. I'm going to walk around different areas of RS to scope it out for myself. Looks like this system is very real, and we will be expecting it shortly. Also, Mod Matt said that they are rolling it out methodically. This means they are launching little live tests (also teasers) to see what results they get. If the results are acceptable, they move onto the next area/feature and the process repeats itself. Essentially they will be testing and releasing bits and pieces of the full-on automated detection system over the next week or so until the official release of Botany Bay, which will be a complete launch of everything they have.

Hmm, nice. Hopefully it finally comes. It's been speculated for months.
