Silent mass ban?

Can anyone confirm this?
I woke up and found out I jumped 6k ranks in the overall ranks, ranked around 15k atm).

Could this probably be a mass ban in stages? They banned guys with over 2300 total lvl, I think this is the final field-testing before the nuke.

 

Jagex regularly cleans up the hiscores, which explains the sudden rank jumping.

It's mostly just people losing members, and then all of them getting removed from hiscores at the same time a week/a few weeks later.

 

this is interesting 55k users online. Unless there was a recent update. I just woke up so have no clue.

mustard - perhaps its normal if your really low on the highscores, but over 6k ranks in the top 20k? sounds really strange.

 

Probably a silent ban. They won't warn people this time regarding nuke. They'd just ban so that they're able to ban more number of people.

 

If you're still at your current rank in a couple of days you can assume it isn't a glitch, and the accounts have been banned by Jagex. There isn't really any other rational explanation.

 

mhh fagx coul have cleaned the highscore, or they could have banned a bunch of acc's

I agree it was probably accounts getting taken off the highscores due to losing membership etc, i doubt it it updates instantly when this occurs, perhaps once a week or once every 2 weeks it does.

Jagex love announcing how they ban bots, if they had done another mass ban today, they would of told everyone on a forum thread or homepage article.

 

My thoughts exactly. There are very few updates that the community of real players actually like but a banning of bots is something that jagex boasts about. If there's no update stating their new amazing bot detection caught X amount of accounts, then it most likely wasn't a ban, but some other reason.

As for the 55k players online, its a large sum of botters who's bot clients haven't responded to the update and haven't updated their clients so the bots are unusable.

True, but coincidentally some of my accounts (which are maxed) can no longer be looked up on the hiscores (they're f2p), but I could look them up yesterday.

 

Its probably because of membership loss.

Look at "the old nite" he has been dead since like 2006, but his account is unsearchable on the highscores.

Its not like some genious hacked his password.

For those that dont know, the old nite, was the 2nd best player in runescape back in the old days when getting 99s took forever.

 

I want atleast a few weeks or a month before the bot nuke is put into play. I'm wanting to experiment with something and see if it works out. I think it's just JaGeX just cleaning the hiscores though as when they do something for the community, they usually post showing the legit players they're combating the bots, assuring them, there's still some hope.

 

hiscore cleans up regularly - each month the no P2p accounts.

If you are p2p and you run out of f2p you will have to wait for one of these clean ups to happen in order for your name to be hidden from the hiscores.

It was a silent high level ban. They want to have high level accounts ready for Botany Bay when it is released. It will make the legit people feel better when they are voting on the fates of high level bots.

Posts like these freaked me out, but I just checked and my account is fine, they are probably just slowly banning botters as the bot nuke approaches.
