Vouch Count Required

A major solution I can see benefiting this is simply to advise people to use their Vouch Thread.

There's a Vouches Forum section for a reason.

Actually, better yet implement a rule making it compulsory to only count the vouches you have in your Vouch thread in the Vouches Forum.

If you receive any vouches in your service threads etc, quote them into your Vouch thread.

However I haven't seen this as a major issue, but it could be because I don't trade with 'newcomers'.

If this problem is common, then I support this suggestion.

 

It shouldn't take anybody more than a few hours to compile all of their vouches with multi quote. Sure, some people may not have all of their vouches in one place, but for the most part, it shouldn't be too hard.

 

I kind of support I guess, if it is a problem, like's been said. I personally always update my sig/vouch thread after a deal, so they're up-to-date on the exact amount of vouches I have at the time. The + simply means that there will obviously be more over time. =p

 

I support this. I also find it frustrating to see [100+ vouches!] or [36 vouches] all over the place, when it truely isn't known, and, if it is known, then it will surely change. Maybe you just shouldn't be allowed to put you're number of vouches in the title as well? Avoiding unnecessary messes with this idea being implemented.

 

Support This would be pretty nice to see. As people can't go like ehh I guess I have 500 *posts he has 500*

tbh i dont like this idea. If you have a vouch thread only vouches will be in it. 90% of trades i dont even ask people to vouch if they do great if not... In my opinion vouching is just a false sense of security...

What i see as a more important factor is the amounts handled.

Sometimes one partner will buy say 10 bills over a period of 3 months... i dont expect them to leave a vouch... say he bought 200 mill at a time.... There are so many ways to "cook the books"...

Just my personal opinion.... I always take vouches with a grain of salt so to speak.

 

Support, I've come across people claiming they have 30+ vouches but they can only give you like 10 or so. But I also can understand the market giants having a hard time finding all of their vouches.

 

It the market giants dont care enough to count their vouches ONCE (thatll be all it takes because after the its just x+1=#of vouches) then they dont deserve to be so called market giants. Just saying counting isnt a hard thing to do.. maybe implement when you have 1k vouches you can officially guestimate as long you have 1k+ vouches literally on your vouch page. Honestly imo the difference between 1k and 1.3k vouches isnt so significant in the long run.. if they have that many good trades or even close a couple hundred is a drop in the bucket. It is FARRRR more important for people with >500 or so vouches because them generously guestimating their vouches really fluffs up their "safe" appeal to newcomers and or unsafe traders who are often scammed by these types. having 30 vouches and saying you got 50+ is a BIG breach of trust while give or take 100-200 from the people with thousand+ is just insignificant.

 

This already exists, you can get banned for saying I have so many vouches then not being able to produce them.

 

I never posted in my vouch thread, so I just go by the number of replies that are in there.

And they'll copy paste some text vouches supposedly from other sites.

Its annoying.

 

I just add one to my vouch count and update my total amount traded at the top of my vouch thread...I dont bother quoting as the only posts in your vouch thread should be vouches.

 

Then why did r2p claim 15k in a thread title but nothing happened? I was able to blatantly prove he didn't have 15k. Even now he's only claiming 5k.

 

If someone is estimating their vouch count it should be a realistic estimate and not a misleading one. In R2's situation, his estimate of 15k might be inaccurate, but his inaccuracy doesn't really change a buyers discretion when dealing with him because in actuality he does have too many vouches to count. Whether that vouch count is 10k or 15k, equal responsibility is expected once someone has that much experience.

Now when a newer user comes on and claims 100+ vouches with only around 30 to show, the intent to scam and mislead buyers is there, rather than the intent to make a realistic estimate.

tl ; dr - The vouch count of market giants doesn't affect a buyers decision on doing business with them when they already have an established reputation.

 

If the vouch count doesn't seem correct, feel free to message a staff member to check it out and we'll get the correct number of vouches from the user under investigation.
