    I've noticed that a lot of people are embedding stuff with HTML instead of BBCode. My suggestion is to allow both BBCode and HTML, if possible. I see no negative outcomes to this, as long as BBCode is still enabled, since it is easier than HTML.

    I think allowing HTML coding in posts would be great for people who are learning HTML, or very fluent HTML coders who prefer HTML over BBC.

    And hopefully, like I said earlier, it's possible to enable both HTML and BBC at the same time, so if you type the following out:

    <span style=color:#99ffff><b>Hi, this is a HTML Test</b></span>
    and
    [COLOR=#99ffff][B]Hi, this is a BBCode Test[/B][/COLOR]

    You would get the exact same product.

    Hi, this is a HTML/BBCode Test

    The thing about allowing HTML is that it would create vulnerabilities to the site. Users could use HTML to harm or otherwise alter/modify elements of the forums which we don't want.

    BBcode isn't a real language, it's completely interpreted and dependant on its HTML backend that is set by the admins, so it's 100% safe.

    The reason why donors and mods can't change their own UTs is because UTs use HTML, not BBcode, so it has to pass through the authorization of Matthew before displayed.

    Although it would be cool, it's just to risky to give users that kind of power. There are plenty of malicious things that HTML code could be used for, and it's really not worth the risk. If there is any specific privilege you want I'd suggest making a suggestion about adding a BBcode code (if that's what you cal it) for it. I am fairly certain that they aren't hard to add, and if it's useful then an admin shouldn't have a problem doing it.

    How is HTML harmful?
    I can't think of a single way it could be harmful, seeing as it can't edit user files, or do anything malicious on someones computer. The only thing I have heard of with HTML is you can open up an "invisible' page outside your monitor in internet explorer.

    Of course I could be, and probably am wrong though. I would love to see it implemented, I think it would be a nice feature.

    If HTML were enabled, then this thread would no longer be viewable.

    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=LINKTOSOMEBADSITEHERE.com"/>

    It's way too easy for people to do, and I'm sure it would be very highly abused.

    Absolutely not. This would be a huge security flaw.
