Are humans born good or evil?

all are born good... there's just curiosity in people's lives and that's when sin falls

 

We as human were all born the same when it comes to good and bad. It's while we grow that we pick up good and bad characteristics.

Those born in a bad environment feel no guilt doing something a good person would feel guilty doing.

 

Humans are born neutral and is driven by their set morals or the morals that they learnt from their parents or what the society thinks.(Good and bad is such a broad topic)

 

Evil, but most turn good.

 

Humans are born neither. They have certain characteristics which are innate and some which are learned. Those which are innate (such as the need for survival) are not evil at all. I believe that any evil characteristics are learned, particularly at early ages.

 

Neither.....animals and early humans had no idea of good or bad? We defined things as we saw good or bad. So we are born into...nothing really. We only see things as wrong or right because along the way someone decided for all of us that this is right or wrong...every human is born and wants to live. Like any animal it will hunt/gather for food and resources. Put us in a city with other humans and then teach morals/ethics and so on then you have now defined a line which is good or bad....doesn't change the fact that we did what we had to survive.

 

I think you can't define it with good or bad. We all are human beings and we are influenced in our younger age by our parents, friends etc. and if you are going to threated right or wrong it depends on your personality, if we become bad or good.

What's good in one person's opion may be evil in another's.

To give an extreme example; I don't think Hitler thought he was doing an evil thing when he started the holocaust. I'm sure most nazis thought he was doing a good thing as well.

On second thought, this may not be the best example ever...

 

Everyone is born with a clean slate lol...

 

Everyone born has a clean frame of mind, but some things can make this clean slate in some way "dirty" either with mental health issues or something that has happened in their life that has made them who they are.

 

It depends on what environment they have grown up in, if they have been brought up by a caring family they will most likely lead a good life. It doesn't always depend on that, humans were born with the sense to tell good from bad but if they grow up in a bad environment how will they be able to tell what's good and bad? Just because someone grows up in a good environment doesn't mean they cannot turn sour it their later life.

IMO we are born neutral. Then as you grow up i guess you develop a sense of morality whether thats evil or good, this is caused by a variety of factors including social environment, genetics, religion, parental upbringing and so on.

I don't believe WE make ourselves evil or good, its our surroundings, social pressure, the desire to be accepted amongst your peers. This can relate to your family having religious backgrounds and attempting to force/pass it onto you as a child which defines your sense of morality, or whether its your school friends all doing the same thing such as smoking, drugs, alcohol, and then your need to fit in to feel a sense of belonging drives you to particulate and lust alters your lifestyle.

 

Took the words right out of my mouth. We do not simply decide a moral path early on, nor are we born with good or evil intent, however we can be born with predispositions to psychological problems and violent tendencies, something maybe future science can fix.

 

I believe children are born neutral, and life experiences, the way they are raised and those they are raised around have the biggest impact on who they are. As a young child I was, according to my grandparents and mother, an "angel". I never had to be told twice to pick up my toys or w/e but as I grew older I got introduced to drugs, alcohol, sex, I joined the missouri chapter of SKUNX at 14 where I was taught all people were equal. If a black man crossed me I should handle it no different than if he was white, if a woman was talking shit I should handle it the same as if a man was talking shit; all which resulted in a sturdy boot to the teeth. At 16 our "leader" was put in prison for robbing a breaktime for 30$ a box of blunt wraps and a box of beef jerky. He was released in 2010, upon which time he taught the crew, me included, that the moral standards he taught us were wrong. The new standards he preached to us I wont mention as they are more "evil" as most of the sythe community would call it and unfair to many other races. He died later that year only a few months before his birthday, shot in a bad drug deal. And I still live by the "evil" standards that I truely believe to be "right" and also believe will earn me a spot among my fallen brothers in Valhalla when I die. I consider myself a warrior of Odin and a fighter for "right" so this whole question is a contradiction as if I told you my beliefs and standards atleast 75% of this community would think of me as "wrong" and "evil". Good and Evil are only opinions. What makes one evil? Racism? Drugs? Sex before marriage? What makes one good? Believing in a "christian" god? Staying sober?

Our beliefs are our own. Ive known many people who I myself consider good and many I consider evil. But my version of evil most likely the exact opposite of yours.

So, in short. This question is a question of what our opinions of good and evil are. And it all depends on if a child is born to a family who practice a religion we consider "evil" or "wrong" or if they practice a religion that we consider "good" or "right".

And the same goes for their standards. Many will consider a man evil for hitting a woman. I personally went to jail for splitting my baby mamma's mouth open, but before hand she split my head open with a monkey wrench simply for coming home an hour late from goin out and drinkin with friends.

Am i "evil" for making her bleed half as much as I did? I got staples in my skull and she just had a nice cut on her bottom and top lips. But by many peoples beliefs this alone will make me an "evil" and a "bad" person.

Answer: Neither, as good/evil does not exsist it is all in opinion.

 

I agree with you as well it's not like you can choose how they turn out to be or something life isn't a video game.

 

Good and evil are subjective anyways. Killing humans in some tribes isn't considered evil, but to me, it's downright murder. Just depends on the conditions of your uprising.

I have a question though. Is a man who is born a psychopathic serial killer evil? Or is he only a neutral being predisposed to evil acts?

I'm not advocating serial killers in any way, this is a genuine concern of mine.

 

Humans in my honest opinion are born with the opportunity to choose between good or evil. The choice is ultimately theirs, but whether or not there good or bad isn't seen until later on. No one is truly born to be evil, or to even become evil unless they make that choice on their own
Although i have to say in today's economy it's even harder to know what is right and wrong. One could easily become what you would consider "bad" or "Evil".
