They are selling SKINS

skin= different kind of look for your character and gear.

population quadrupled in a year

people quit in 2004 because of runescape 2

population x10d in 2 years and had the best pking experience since runescape classic wars

people quit when the wilderness was removed and replaced with BH

population tripled over the next year rofl

people quit when wild came back out LMFAO

and here we are runescape at its peak on players and another seession of kids saying they are going to quit.

Ive played this game so long I should be considered a nerd with no life and I accept that but when it comes to runescape and the time ive spent pking and my time on wow doing arena. I have this magnificent knowledge of games

Honestly i see the "skins" as you call them,. things that should be in the game already, if not the loyalty shop. those are basic things that most games have. Like why should i pay money to have a cool looking weapon when i already pay monthly?

Basically paying for graphical updates which is bullshit.

oh and im assuming all your information about the player population are all made up with no proof backing them up. Because i know those arent the real numbers lol.

"Why should [you] have to pay money to have [GP to buy] a cool looking weapon [, armor, skillcape] when [you] already pay monthly?" In fact, since we already know it was merely a rhetorical question getting at, "Jagex is retarded for selling us extra stuff other than just membership," you should answer the rhetorical question for them and just stop selling the waste-of-money gold. Or just give it away for free. Your choice. Otherwise, you're just as retarded as Jagex for selling what should obviously be (in your opinion) a free item. After all, the only reasonable thing that you should ever have to buy for a game is membership.

 

i think it's an ok update, like honestly if people want to spend money on emotes or cool looking weapons that don't even give advantages, i see no problem with it. anything that gives germflex more money to keep their games running so i can profit off of it irl is fine with me.

 

One point that people keep bringing up is that Jagex isnt selling anything that gives anyone an advantage but giving them cosmetics; which doesnt bother me.

It bothers me about the way they're going about it. an IN-YOUR-FACE approach, every time you login, go to the lobby, click the tab, on the homepage, on your character screen. Everywhere there is a fucking micro-transaction button now.

Many games support and flourish off of micro-transactions; League of Legends, TF2, SMNC, and countless others. What the other games all have in common is they separate the game from the transactions. They keep them close but distant, let you access the shops within the game FROM ONE BUTTON, and not jam it down your throat.

My soapbox, is all.

 

Im SOO tired of the idle threats from rs players saying they are gunna quit if so and so happens. These are the same guys who said they were gunna quit when wildy was taken away or when bh was introduced or when claws and soa were introduced. seriously guys, STFU and quit already.

About solomon, some of those skill animations should have been released for everyone. The old ones are so outdated.

Thats not a good example at all tbh. Youre comparing me, who doesnt even sell gold anymore, and thousands of other gold sellers to Jagex. Like I dont even see what point you were trying to prove to me. If youre trying to compare me to a greedy,money hungry company by saying im a goldseller then youre wrong. Because when i used to sell i would actually sell for .59/.60m which is the best price on sythe.
