    Do you have Java updated, or even installed?

    This looks like a Java error.

    Do you have any antivirus or firewalls on, possibly interrupting the connection to RuneScape?

    You could also Delete the cache and try reloading. I have heard that works for some people.

    Check to make sure you have enough HD space, that was the issue i was having on a VM when i got this error.

    problem with loading rs?
    Download the runescape client from their website and run it off that. Runescape just has a black screen for me in any browser except their own client. I never get an error message, but at once using the client fixed my problem, it might fix yours as well.
