    Worth installing Windows 8?

I'd like to dive into Windows 8 to get some of my more popular programs updated to work with it properly, but I'm unsure of whether or not it's at the point where it's fully usable or not. It's on RC right now and from what I remember I switched to Windows 7 while it was still in RC too, and never ran into any problems.

What do you guys think? Should I just wait for the RTM or give the RC a go?

I still think windows 7 is nearly as good as windows 8, regarding performance. I would wait til the RTM.

Just saying windows 8 beats windows 7 in most tests by a little over 10% if not less.

If you crave a 10 second faster start up or better web performance get it.

It's pretty much your choice if you want to get it now. I'm not sure on it's stability because I obviously don't have it.

I don't see why you would want a tablet OS on your computer, it looks extremely cheesy and by the looks of it, marketed for less advanced users.

~Although I've found that some people say it runs smoother/faster.

Well, in terms of making your programs compatible with Windows 8, then yes that's a very intelligent move on your part. Although, I wouldn't leave Windows 7 behind, maybe create and install it on a separate partition? I'm probably going to stick with Windows 7 though mate, I don't see any need to upgrade to Windows 8 and I only really left XP as everyone has or will end support for it.

Install it on a separate partition by all means and check for any compatibility issues for your programs, but consider sticking with Windows 7 ;)
