Saddest story runescape related

Well basically I've been working really hard on runescape to achieve a goal I quite wanted in a very long time. This consisted me killing 600 frost dragons per day to acquire this along with killing/camping other monsters for extra change along the day. I took me about 1-2 months to get enough money for torva. Once I achieved that goal, I've been laying off runescape. Been looking for jobs and been really studying. This detracted me away from my close friends in real life and on the internet. I regret spacing them out to complete this goal, but this is far from the sad part.

My aunt suffers from winged scapula in the worst kind of stage. She has the insurance to cover it but she was about $300 off and the god damn surgeon who was doing the surgery didn't agree to down payments which is absolutely fucking bullshit, eh? This woman watched me while my mother had to work and I saw her a lot in my life and I wasn't working at the time and my heart sank. She called me telling me how much the pain hurts her and that exercises do not help, but only increase the pain she endures. Being the nice guy I am and since I wasn't really into runescape at the time as I completed my goal I decided to sell the gp on my account... After selling everything I came with about 730m.. I kind of cried inside when I realized that I needed to sell this. Once I ended up selling this to a great guy with excellent service I withdrawn the money and sent the cash via mail to my aunt..

She was ecstatic when she received the money and more than relieved. She should undergo surgery by next week, but there's still that spot in my mind, not in my heart telling me I made a big mistake. Now that summer is here and my plans were basically set back because I had to stay here and help my family that I would probably end up playing runescape again. I honestly do not care so much about the money, but the effort and time put into it.

My mother was quite surprised that the game I basically wasted my life on helped me out by giving me what I put in. I also feel weird for breaking the rules of runescape.. Now I realize this is a black market website, but I haven't actually real world traded up until now. I tried doing it before, but it failed and set me back. I have this demeanor which is currently nasty right now. I just need to know what I did was right. I was told by my family and many close friends that I am a life savor, but I always look back and see the time I wasted. I value my time, and the outcome of it. I basically wasted 2 months of my life I'm unable to get back and surely didn't enjoy.

So basically you did the right thing and you will be viewed as a hero in many eyes.

 

Thanks needed this.. It was obviously the right thing to do, but I don't know I get mad sometimes about it. Hopefully it will die down and I can get back on track with my life

 

You did the right thing. While those two months may have been "wasted" by your point of view, they ended up saving your aunt. Now she will be able to have much more than two months of happiness and life that wouldn't have been around if it weren't for you. Take pleasure in the fact that you extended the happiness in her life, and then hopefully you'll feel it doesn't even matter that you wasted sone of your own time. You should feel proud of yourself, yor're a hero.

 

The game isn't so pointless now, eh? You made an impact on somebody's life. If that doesn't make you feel good, I don't know what would.

 

That's not sad at all. Everyone comes to a point in their lives where they have to make a tough decision, but that one should have been a no brainer. Try not to put so much importance on material things. I respect your decision, it was the right one IMO

anyways I think you made the right decision as family matters over a game any day. I hope everything is better now for you and your family.

 

Honestly, your aunt was $300 short of a supposed MAJOR surgery and no one else could give her the money? $300 dollars is not a lot of money, especially for something like this. So even if she had $999,970 for a surgery that cost $1,000,000. Someone else could have been able to give her that money. Unless your family is full of poor as hell jackasses..

It just seems too convenient and I am waiting for the part where you start to "accept donations" to build back up your money.

Anyway you made the right decision, regardless how "iffy" your story sounds. No matter how sad it has made you to hand over your mills, that would have taken 300 + hours to get from Frost Dragons you made the correct decision. If you do decide to get it back, you should not do it via Frosts, but rather getting a job and buying GP with the money from that job.

 

Thinking the same. Calling bs on his story.

I don't know if I buy this story to be honest..

The reason being, I think anybody would feel extremely proud of themselves, albeit a bit sad over the wasted time, to have the opportunity the sell their entire RS bank and get that last few hundred dollars that a family member needed for a surgery. In the end, the knowledge that you saved a family member's life and did something that displays a level of maturity and responsibility beyond your years, should be enough to help you sleep at night knowing you made the right choice.

 

Consider it like this; you 'wasted' 2 months of your life to save years of your aunts.

Good choice there mate.

Don't be ashamed or upset, because you inevitably made over $300 in those 2 months.

Plus it's always possible to make it back again.

Hope the surgery goes well.

kinda messed up though for two parts, you definately sound like you second guessed saving your aunts life, who sounded like they spent more time with and around you then you deserved...

Two, your family couldnt conjour up $300 for a major surgery? ive had friends sell their cars, computers, xbox's - Raw materials they use everyday too help others for smaller shit... $300 is half a weeks pay for me, so thats ridiculous.

This does seem a pretty sketchy because think about it.... $300 for a LIFE CHANGING SURGERY and none of your family members have that or don't want to help her that is one messed up family.also like you said this a person that has been around you your whole life and you actually had to think about selling your rs cash to help them? Dude that is f'in stupid i would sell that cash in a heart beat and i would also sell my ps3/xbox/tv/car/gold anything that i had to save my family members life. So what if you wasted 2 months of your life on a video game? That was your choice in the first place man who that hell would spend 2 months and make that much cash while you could of worked IRL for like 2 weeks and make like 4x that? I am just ashamed that you had to think to save a family members life... That is if this isn't made up.

You can't feel regret for what you did because it had to be done. If anything you should feel proud of yourself.

If you think of it as wasted time, maybe you should just get a job and buy gp in the first place If you don't enjoy the game whats the point of playing? You could get a job and make like 150m a day when you cash in for gp
