Has Selling Gold Changed The Way You Look At The Game?

ever since i sold gold and was on this site it made me look at the game differently. its like i look at everything as irl money. like i lose dragon claws in game, oh i just lose 6 dollars, fuck. people will say oh don't get mad it's just pixels but when i know it's money its like wow what the fuck i just lost 2 dollars or 1 dollar or or 10 dollars or whatever, idk it just makes the game different/worse.

 

During the late end of my Runescape career I did begin to think of it all in terms of money. Which is sad, to be honest..

Man, I remember when gold would sell for 10/m. People at our library would sell Sara sets for 20 bucks whenever I went there

 

Absolutely. In a few ways.

1. It's made me view the ingame GP as $$, obviously. Every mill now counts, so when I stake or dice, it's like I'm gambling and it just makes things so much more unsettling when I lose.

2. Large amounts of gold mean almost nothing to me now. I used to dream about having 300M, now having 5b isn't a big deal.

 

It's just made me think that this game is now not just an ordinary pixelated RPG.
This is where you can make some real cash.

Bot & Sell.
Farm & Sell.

Anything is sell-able really.

 

It has definitely changed the way I look at Runescape.

I think this has somehow taken away the element of fun in the game.

 

sort of, i try to seprate my gp on different accounts, like fun account and bussiness accounts, but tbh i play on p servers now mostly so i dont lose much.

 

Not really. I still enjoy the game amd if i loose gp i dont imagine it as irl cash haha

 

to be honest it makes me not care when i clean people staking. cause when i clean some1 its just like okay now there going to buy more gold so i could care less.

 

I have to really agree with that second line there. I don't deal with the gold side of business as much, but the game blackmarket in general has taken away a lot of the 'play for fun' element that it used to have. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing the game for fun and I enjoy the market here and such from time to time, but the game does seem more like $$$ at times rather than just paying for memb, etc.

I think I probably would have been enjoying it more if I hadn't found sites like this, despite how fun it can be to see 'the other side'.

 

I definitely do what you do. I look at everything as what it's worth irl and it's really turned me off to the game, but I honestly never played it that much for the most part.

 

I used to, but I haven't really cared about it for the past year or so.

For example, I just lost my green h'ween to dicing. Sure, 40 bucks just went down the shitter, but who cares. I'm not letting RS control my every action.

 

I still and have always seen it as a game. Nothing more. If I lose gold, I earn it back. If I'm feeling lazy, I buy some .

 

It really has become way more than virtual currency.
As you can see, everyone here will sell you a huge variety of goods using RSGP

 

Well I think it's a little unsettling when you realize that there's been.. there are.. and there will always be people out there who mass gold farm just to sell for profits.. people like them always ruin the economy.. I'm not talking about the big sellers on here.. I'm talking about the chinese gold farmers or the people who buy 10 computers to run 1000 bots just to earn 50m/day

 

ye it has, now if i dont have 100s of mils i consider myself poor and dont enjoy the game

 

and they already bought 100$ worth now they have to spend another 100$.

Yeah I for sure look at gold as a currency apposed to just pixels. Which is probably why I don't play runescape anymore.

 

tbh i still enjoy the game. RWT always exist

 

honestly i think it makes it funner if you enjy playing the game and your a succesful gold seller/buyer if you enjoy pking you will love it
