What's wrong with the servers?

Also, this may sound like a pretty stupid question, but I'm not very good when it comes to vBulletin. But will the future upgrade to vB4 help with any of these Sythe Maintenance or 50x issues? Or will vB4 only really provide new features?

 

Errors while PMing

 

I notice an error when sending a PM also, although I just go back and send it again, it usually works the 2nd time.

 

Just to note it, I had a horrible time adding donations yesterday for like 10 minutes.

 

It's actually just as bad, if not worse for me right now. I get errors/lag every other click. Quick reply almost always lags out. It's a mess.

Also, when performing mod actions (Moving threads, editing threads, etc) I almost ALWAYS get errored out in the process.

 

Compared to how it was about 2 weeks ago it has improved a bit. The server is still a bit laggy and there's still some trouble saving/editing posts/new posts as they take longer than normal but I haven't had to sit with a 10-15 minute 500 Internal Server Error for at least a week or two. Every now and again I get the maintenance page but it usually goes away after 30-40 seconds.

As well as the forums, they run smoothly for the most part but they can be slow/laggy at times, for example as I tried to quote this post it took about 20-30 seconds to actually take me to a page to post this reply.

 

Last night it was just awful. Was getting tons of errors when couple minutes, then it would work for a bit, then more errors.

 

I'm getting the occasional error at the moment, but nothing in comparison to the last few days.

 

It's strange, it's been a bit slow but I've had hardly any errors come up at all. Not even '500 - Internet Server Error'. I wonder if it's because I'm in a different part of the world to everyone else, although I think we all connect to the same servers regardless. It has been better for me at least.

 

Yesterday was a huge improvement for me throughout the day, but unfortunately last night things went back to how they were before. It became impossible to even load a new page, send a PM, or reply to/close a thread.

I just logged on now and things seem better again, but pages/threads are loading very slowly.

EDIT: It's now 4:40 PM for me and after running smoothly all day, I am now having an extremely difficult time navigating the site. I'm not sure if this is a pattern or not as it's only the second evening in the row I have noticed it, but if this keeps up then it may be that the servers are going down around the same time every day for some reason?

EDIT: Now I'm getting Internal Server Errors! Whooh, at least a change of pace amirite?

 

Maintenance errors seem to be the only error I get now, and I notice also they only seem to properly occur at a certain time ( afternoon - evening for me). I wonder if we just attacked at that time for some reason or somethings up with the way the servers configured.

 

I've got 1 500 error today and about 5 maintenance errors.

 

Server's been slow for the last few hours and has gone down here and there.

Specifically, it seems that searching for posts/threads doesn't work. The rest of the site has just been loading slow today (but working for the most part).

sometimes when i post it doesnt like register and bump my thread to the top. and also sometimes it shows that i replied but 5 seconds later when i refresh the page that post isnt there. either way its not a big deal just giving a heads up. thanks to everyone working to fix any and all problems

 

You can use for making replies to threads when the site is slow or playing up, I find you have more success of your post getting through rather than using the quick reply option.
