    Gaining Respect [Suggestions]

Being a 'newish' user to Sythe and having only made a few sales that at the time, I did not ask for vouches, I am beginning to wonder, how the hell is someone, supposedly a honest and truthful person, ever going to make any kind of respect, let alone money on this site.

Looking across most of the most viewed threads and most replied upon, theres a pattern of 'High Donators' and '2,500+ Posts' etc sellers.

Does this mean I have to sit around posting all day, or donate money that I havn't got to become trusted?

I seem to think, if you have no vouches, people don't even offer on your items.

Do I need a lucky break?

Looking for opinions and tips on how I can sell my accounts / items.

Note: People will complain about OMM's, I can sense - but how the hell am I supposed to use one if everyone considers themselves 'Respected'.

    Thanks guys.

    Peace

Accounts are a tough sell unless you are legitly trusted, like I wouldn't buy an account off you because you have no vouches or an account that is respected here at sythe. People don't want to lose their highly profitable businesses or highly respected accounts over a silly little scam.

All you have to do to be trusted is follow the rules, be helpful, and trade safely. It's not like it is going to happen overnight, and you are going to have to either go first or use an OMM. Which using a highly trusted MM or an OMM is always suggested. If you don't want to use an MM/OMM and you aren't trusted not many people will trade you unless you go first because you are unknown in the community. You accumulate vouches over time and if they are good quality then people will begin to trust you.

tl;dr: Just trade safely and use an OMM/Highly trusted MM.

The virtual market is very much like the real world market. Nobody's going to want to trade or buy from you if you're not a good, established brand or label, depending on the product. If you see a small fish store open up down the street, chances are that they'll slowly get more and more business since they're starting off with something relatively low-risk. The only way you can get fucked over with fish is if it's bad, as opposed to trying to sell computers and TVs or something which require warranties, support, etc. Nobody will buy TVs off some average joe opening up a shop in the neighborhood.

So, what I'm trying to say is start small, and start with things that are low risk. You may have come to this site to sell accounts, but the cold hard truth is that you won't be able to do that right away. Like you're asking, you have to establish that trust before anyone will buy an account off you. I'd suggest starting off with selling gold or items for real money, or something similar. Once you have a sturdy set of vouches and a good customer base, you'll be able to expand your market horizon into account sales.

Sums it up brilliantly, your best bet is maybe to donate $5, start trading small upto like 20 vouches, and just build. You can easilly ~100 vouches in like 6 months.

    Good luck :)

Post around, get known around the forum you can even chill out in the Sythe IRC that is here http://sythe-irc.org/ and chat to the other members who use it. Respect is not gained quick so just take it one step at a time, you could even open a free quest shop or something to earn some vouches to get more known.

I've given plenty of new members their first vouches, don't think that no one will ever trade you. A trade is a trade and no amount of vouches/posts could measure someone's true legitimacy.

Just keep posting and being active in the market and the respect will come naturally.

Everyone has to start out somewhere, and I understand where you are coming from. The top marketeers who are excelling right now were probably in the same predicament as you. They've gained trust along the way, and they have established themselves as trustworthy individuals who have tons of market experience. Like Blupig stated, start small, and then you'll start gaining trust. For high-risk trades, use an OMM/Highly trusted MM, and/or trade from individuals whom you trust. Along the way, you'll start to be considered trusted to some members, and that will increase as you gain trust. That being said, I wish you the best of luck in your sythe endeavors.
