Govind - Thanks for the quick reply on the PM, it was very helpful.

 

RsProd - I'm not even sure where to start. I have always considered you to be my best 'virtual' buddy, even though we don't talk to eachother as much as we used to. But I know you know exactly how much you mean to me. I know exactly how busy you are, yet you are able to maintain to deliver great work here on Sythe. Having had a look at the Report a Scammer archives to give a fair idea on who's been handling them, it's mostly your name showing up. Keep it up, your hard work and dedication should pay off sooner or later.

Punjabi3 - I don't know you very well, but when browsing through the RaS-archives, I have noticed you tend to do a good job in the RaS aswell.

Malakadang - Same as for Punjabi3, good work both.

Snow Patrol - Shame you haven't been too active in the past three weeks, but I'm sure there's a reason for that. Good job moderating the market sections.

Karl - I've always liked you. You do a splendid job here on Sythe. Good job at tackling the reported posts.

FireZ - Your a unique person, and you have a "no bullshit" style of moderating. You get a lot of things done correctly.

Govind - Little did I know how hard it was to set up a forum as nicely has Sythe has been set up. My hat goes off to you.​

 

Sorry for the brief stint of inactivity;

I have final exams coming up April 30-May 5 in upper-level Physics, Ecology/Evolution, Organic Chemistry, & Organic Chemistry Laboratory and the staff team has been notified well in advance. I've also given them jurisdiction on whether or not they wish to keep me instated as a moderator during this time-frame. My last final exam is May 4th, and I should be considerably more active once I'm all moved into my new apartment come May 7th.

 

I'm pretty sure all of us can respect that some mods have important real life obligations that overshadow almost any free time that they might enjoy. Particularly toward Snow Patrol: Thanks for your dedication to the site.

All I really am going to say to this, is you run a forum this large and see how long it takes until it's hacked and/or DDoS'ed. There are people out there who are going to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a website at their own leisure. There's nothing we can do about that aside from fix it and try to make sure there's no others that can be easily discovered and exploited.

I never once called anyone stupid. I merely said that using the same password for multiple sites/programs was foolish, which it is. It goes against any and all security principles on the internet.

As for the dick part, it's people like you that cause me to act like a dick, so thank yourself before you start demeaning someone you don't even know.

 

I don't veto anyone who has a decent chance.

I'd like to thank all the staff who are working around the clock to ensure no scams occur, warn members about which members are hacked, and just in general.

n4n0 - Good job on the announcement(s).

 

Staff feedback or not, this needs to be said and it'll get the most exposure here I'm sure.

I want to thank those who've been keeping me informed on the hackings and helping me to mitigate the COUNTLESS possible scams. Without your help, I'd be at wits end right now.

Thanks n4n0 and the community for all the effort put towards the recent hackings. You guys have been doing a great job to minimize the damages.

 

n4n0 - Seriously, the work you have put in with the recent Database Leak and MSN hackings has been astounding. It only takes a glimpse at the Dispute a Ban forum and Announcements forum to see all your quality and helpful posts aimed at members who aren't hacked, encouraging them to change their passwords and be wary with all there trades. Not to mention your numerous replies to threads in the Dispute a Ban forum, attempting to help hacked members get their accounts safe and secure, before ensuring they are indeed who they say they are so they can have their accounts unbanned.

If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about:

You're showing some real leadership with your efforts regarding this incident. Really impressive N4n0, thanks a lot.

 

I'm personally a little bothered by this. I understand that forums are vulnerable, but you can't just state that when we're using a 5+ years (as far as I know) old, outdated, version of vBulletin. The company makes updates for a reason, and many security issues were resolved in the latest version.

I guess I really can't wait until Sythe upgrades to v4, whenever that is. This message could be used as 'staff feedback' for Richard I suppose.

Thanks for that. I've fired him from RSUltimate as a safety precaution. I would really like some checks to see if he's scammed people in the past, if you or anyone else can help, as I have $90~ I owe him for his services at RSU that could be used toward recovering scammed funds. I will be paying him on Monday, so if you can get back to me by then that'd be great.

Not to be a complete asshole to Giddy, but I guess I have a complaint. A few minutes after King Tijn's MSN was hacked, I informed Giddy of the possible hacking, since Tijn was being extremely suspicious. Giddy then said he would ban him as a safety precaution, but then stopped responding to me and Tijn was never temporarily banned.

I do appreciate n4n0's involvement in the matter, and I'm sure it's made a huge impact on the reduced number of people hurt by the hackings.

(edit) Oh by the way, n4n0, I'm not personally calling you out or anything close to that. You're actually doing a very good job, if I didn't make it clear in this post. I just used your posts as reference since you spoke about the situations here.
