I don't think they will remove free trade. Runescape is already going down, if they remove it it's the end.

 

RTWing is one of the main money makers for Jagex at the moment, I'm not sure they'll be so quick to remove free trade again.

 

Why is your title 'JAGEX is removing free trade!' if they arent?

This is just a blog where they are talking about what they would like to happen and what could happen.
I highly doubt they would remove it if they had taken it out and brought it back in already, with the bot nuke they are clearly doing stuff to combat RWTers.

Dont have misleading titles...

Imho they arent going to remove free trade.
It's making alot of money for them. Without bots they were losing money from upgrades.

 

I highly doubt Jagex will be removing free trade again anytime soon. They already thought this was the solution to their problems years ago, and after implementing a free trade ban for quite some time they realized that it was not the way to go about things.

Besides, like other people have mentioned above, Jagex profits off RWT in a number of ways and so its quite unlikely they will do something so any time soon.

 

Why would Jagex remove free trade again after all the voting, time put into changing the mini-games etc, wouldn't make sense from a business prospective or for their popularity.

 

I wouldn't just immediately rule this out anymore. If jagex does end up continuing to expand their rwt ventures, it would make sense to try to cut out competition.

However, there's no real evidence for this right now and it's something that the players would have to be eased into.

i seriously doubt jagex would ever remove free trade again, i said the same thing about bots though. But i really think it would be the end of the game.

 

They better not dare remove free trade. Not that I would do anything personally.

They traded the bot memberships income for RWT income tbh. They won't cut off RWT and have no income.

Simon and James always have titles that are deceiptive, free trade won't go away anytime soon because they are making too much money right now off rwt

Yah, this is a very good point. If jagex gets to the point where they are basically selling gold then removing free trade will make them a lot of money.
