That's incredibly stupid, "that rule is only for players." So if Jagex wants they'll start selling gold and items for $$ but its fine because they're Jagex and because the stupid move is being done by the company not the players it makes it all okay? That mod isn't exactly the brightest tool in the shed.

Stupid update but there's really nothing anyone can do about updates anymore. Sooner or later you'll be able to buy combat xp with $$. Not to mention this fully supports gambling for minors because unlike staking they're paying $$ for ingame chance/luck.

Villandra has made an account with 99 slayer, 99 ranged, 99 magic, 99 summoning, 43/60 prayer I believe and 10 hitpoints. Atleast it was 10 hitpoints with 99 summoning but it did have range/mage/pray levels aswell. Not 100% sure about the slayer.

She has another account Lorica with 99 summoning untrimmed and a couple other "noob accounts" as she called it with 85 slayer @ <85 combat I believe. I used to follow her blog on Zybez pretty much since a couple years ago.

 

That mod's response is pathetic, I bet Andrew Gower knew about this all along and that's why he quit the board. I can't see Jagex getting out of this without their rep being destroyed.

 

This is pretty much RWT. We're paying for spins, which lead to items.

 

Wow, woke up to RS RWTing. This is crazy. Talked to a guy in game who said he bought like 100 spins and got 40 lamp drops and a 10m drop.

I think this is Jagex's way of saying stop buying from other sites, buy from us Its safe and also it'll stop people from saying they got scammed.

 

I dont see how this will change anything, you all are freaking about nothing. if anyone has a brain they wont buy any extra spins, 5 bucks for what 10 spins? you can spend 5 bucks and get 8m easily. runescape may try to profit of RWT but I dont see it happening, except for those who think RWT is morally wrong in the game of runescape and think that buying spins makes it more legit.

 

Fucked up update. Im sure you can buy like 2x xp items soon.

 

Hm yeah I realise that the price was exaggerated. I think they are worth quite a lot though but the prices of accounts have dropped. My price was under the perfect circumstances of someone with high trust selling an account like that.

I'm not too sure about my summoning tank, the last time I seriously staked was back in Februay/April 2011 which is actually more than a year ago, longer then I thought.. Hm. Times have probably changed but I think it can still be pretty profitable, but it will take a long time to make back to money you would spend on 95 summoning. It's not impossible though, especially when doing iron titan walks vs steel titan vs mains that think they can take you on because they have 99 summoning. But yeah, it's probably not worth the effort.

 

I wouldn't buy the spins myself, but I really like this update.
Give the people what they want, without it having a negative affect on other people.

Kids would only blow the money anyway on other games, I'd rather Jagex gets the money, and keeps the game that I like to play up and running.

 

Bought 75 spins for the lulz. Got about 300k RC exp and 100k in specific skill lamps, wewt. -_-

I don't understand why you guys are crying real world trading when your on a black market where people buy and sell billions daily... seriously. People could buy xp before too, it's called bots but when jagex does it they are the bad guy... people love to hate.

 

It's called 'micro transactions'. A lot of games these days make a KILLING from them.

I find this hilarious because Jagex has said they are opposed to microtransactions and that they wouldn't ever have a place in RuneScape.

 

You must be new to Runescape and Jagex. This has been something they have been directly opposed to and tried their best to eradicate for the longest time, and now they are doing it. They have became hypocrites. It is kinda like that one really awesome band that sells out and then sucks when they try and go back after all their fans leave. You don't get the correlation.

 

Should have just released the actual items for sale they would've gotten way more money (AND HATE LOL)...

I'm still pissed off, whatever I'll have to deal with it I guess, just like with the Exp Updates that make this game easier and faster.

 

does anyone believe jagex could be taking to court on this issue as it introduces gambling to minors in an unregulated environment

i mean in alot of countries you need to be 18 years of age+ in order to gamble and here there is no regulation of this

 

Also need to be 18+ to own a credit card, not to mention it isn't gambling since you aren't winning real life money. You are just paying for in game content like always
