Divine or Elysian

Just came across a decent amount of cash and can afford both.
Which is better and why?

Depends If you're high risk pking or pVming. If high risk pking I suggest the divine, mainly because of its def bonuses compared to the Elysian but its personal preference really.

 

I'm mainly PvM

 

Im pretty sure ely is better for PVM because of less prayer drain. but as said above, its personal choice

 

Elysian. I moslty use it for PVM

Personally, i like the divine better, even though it drains prayer faster i find it blocks a lot more damage. Its all about personal taste, get one and try it, if you dont like it try the other

 

I HARDLY notice the prayer train when I do pvm with a divine. I say just go for that if you can pay for it.

 

go for divine , the prayer drain isnt something to worry of when you're 95+ prayer

 

if you pk then divine if pvm/staking then ely

If you're 95+ prayer and can still maintain a decent cash stack while purchasing a divine, get the divine.

Most PvMers use it because it allows you to last longer on trips due to its defensive bonuses. It'll pay off to get the divine, that's my opinion.

 

Divine, it's 100% unlike Elysian which has a CHANCE.

For example: If you get hit with a 500 and die and Elysian didn't activate, Divine would have activated and would have also saved your life.

Do you want to rely on chance to save a prayer points (If you can afford either, I'm sure you wouldn't mind using Prayer Potions/Super Restores that often) or do you want the block always while sacrificing some prayer points?

Ely is 300m and blocks 25% of damage 70% of the time, Divine blocks 30% of the damage 100% of the time but drains your prayer. I'd say buy ely and try it out and then do divine afterwards and just experiment on which you like better

 

I'd just like to add onto why you made the right choice in purchasing the Divine.

First, you can use the aura "Penance". And the damage you take pretty much negates the prayer drain from Divine. The effect of Penance is you gain Prayer Points for every few damage taken. So it makes divine a lot more effective. It lasts for 1 hour.

You can depend on a divine, where you cannot with an Elysian. Divine is better for both PVM and PVP.

There has been much debate on which is better. Before the penance aura, prayer renewal (It regens more than a prayer potion) etc. Some people went with Elysian. When you think about the math, you can last longer only if you had a full Nex set, with a lot of brews. As you gain more hp per Brew, also with the Unicorn. I'm not going into detail, but basically when the new aura and prayer renewal was released, it made Divine better than Ely without a doubt.

 

elysian is good for staking if you have prayer turned off. Divine is good if you have a high prayer level. Overall i would say divine is better for PvM.
