Realm of the Mad God ~ The New Minecraft?

About a week ago I heard about this new game on x-play called "Realm of the Mad God", so I got on the computer and checked it out. I was instantly addicted. It is sort of like playing a simpler version of Diablo 2 on hell mode. You get 1 life, and trust me, you will die. However the point of the game is to keep playing, make new classes, and survive as long as you can.

I really enjoy the persistence, and the sense of accomplishment the game provides. For example, you are always working towards something. First your working to hit lvl 20 (the cap), then your working to collect fame, while your collecting fame your also trying to get better gear, while your getting better gear your trying to max out your character. It never ends, and when you die you get to do it all over again.

I have been recommending this to many people, and I want everyone to try it out. I am going to create a sythe guild once I have acquired enough fame, and I may even open up a RotMG shop here on sythe. The novelty wore off very quickly for me.

 

Meh Drakkensang is pretty much the same thing but isometric and better

The best part is that the game is still only a few months old, and the developers are putting out regular updates. This could grow into something even bigger in just a few months time.

 

Pretty addicting lol, I like it.

 

Yeah, it's an incredible game. They really merged the cooperative element in well, I remember virtually everyone on the server working together to crack the crystal that the Mad God was hiding in, or something like that.

I like how items have mini descriptions too.

 

I remember the first night I played it. I did the tutorial and then it took me to the little place where I could pick the realm and I just stood there trying to shoot people.

My view of RotMG:
First minute - omg this is crap I just died
Second minute - graphics are a bit rubbish but it seems fun
First hour - OMG EPIC!!
Days later - Wooo! x339 you on? I'm owning!

Ha, I understand how it could be so addicting Came up with my name when Diablo II came out, I'll def give it a try.

 

If you mean this then it's nothing like it. Drakensang is a diablo-like hack'n'slash, while this game is more of a cooperative shmup.
