Making Runescape less laggy

Ever since the graphic updates ive been lagging uncontrollably. Can someone edify me about what i can do ?

 

put graphics on minimum and fixed?

 

You need to keep all your graphics to a minimum. Take a second to turn all the extra settings off and make sure you're playing on "safe" mode.


Also, you can go to your Task Manager(if you're running on windows) and go to the processes. There will be one for



Right click that and set the priority to high.

Upgrade your computer and internet. You must have a dinosaur if you lag on Runescape.

Try switching between direct x and open gl?

 

Playing with the rs client significantly reduces lag for most people. Also try running in fixed, lowest settings.

Thanks for this, didn't realize that making the Java process a higher priority would lessen the lag. Was looking for a solution myself.

 

Also I found that when I switch to direct x in-game it speeds up my fps by a lot.

 

You can also decrease the loading times by increasing the RAM allocation to the RS Client.

yeah just remember if you're setting the priority to high you don't want a lot of extraneous programs running. Can't burn your computer out right
