I recently got 95 prayer, and so my bank was a good 24m. Then today, after completing a herb run, I was selling some stuff when I see this guy, his username was "Keyboarded", wearing a blue p hat and a divine. He was saying "doubling money, 700m left" because he was a 137, I thought I would give it a try. I traded him 1m and he gave me 2m. I thought he was legit. In no time, there was a crowd of people forming, everyone wanted him to double their cash.

I traded him my entire bank, 24m, and he gave me 48m! I was so excited, addicted, my greed took over my thought to stop. But no, I went and bought back bandos. The first time ever since my 95 prayer, I finally had my full bandos!

After the bandos bought I still had like 13m left, so I decided to have "Keyboarded" double that, then I would be a happy man off to frost dragons. I traded him my 13m, he didn't trade back.

How his scam worked:
He does a few legit doubles to get trusted
Someone trades him their cash, he keeps it
His clanmate under him walks out and says "wtf, you traded me, thx for the cash"

I know this is a scam because the same 5 clanmates seemed to be getting a lot of trades from people.

That's what happened to my 13m. I thought it was my mistake at first, so I traded "keyboarded" my new bandos, fury, all my cash, thinking I could just double my bank and be done. No. It didn't end well. I started with so much, gained so much, and in the end, I lost everything to my greed and stupidity. Don't let this happen to you. And Keyboarded, if you are on Sythe, you are one sly bastard.

Doubling is never fully legit. Not to be mean, but you deserve this for beign so stupid.

 

Ahhhh... If it seems to good to be true, you shouldn't do it. :S I would've stopped after the 24m double.

Look at it this way. All in the end you bought full bandos. Which by your story it's 35m, you started with 24m, you still gained money. Ya losing that 13m cash stack safty net was bad, but in the long run you still made 11m!

 

I guess I didn't write the ending very well, but I lost everything. What happened to my 13m happened to my bandos.

Wtf? This is the most poorly worded story I've ever read and I still don't know what actually happened. Guess this is my fault for reading past "doubling money"

 

Doubling money isn't gabling..it's a very clear scam.


Stay away from it. Sorry for your loss by the way.

Why would a scammer ever double a random person's 24m? (Which was also the guys bank anyway and it doesn't make sense that the guy would just choose to scam back "everything" when "everything" is just OP's 24m + scammers 24m he gave to OP.

Who falls for doubles?

 

He was doubling all orders at first, to test waters. Then at a certain point, he kept all the money. Not hard to understand. He doubled 24 mil, because it was before the point he started keeping it.

 

That's stupid. He doesn't need to double strangers money he could just have friends stage reactions like everyone else does.
Also there's no guarantee that he would receive a payoff greater than 24m (because most people aren't retarded like OP and hand 24m to someone)
