RS vs RS Classic

Which was better?

 

Depends on the person. I mean classic is what I started on, so it will always be something I'd enjoy. I also think RS2 keeps trying to move more to a like WoW game feel. Just IMO.

I'm sure pretty much everyone who started quite some time before rs2 came out, will KNOW that it was better. Better gameplay and a better community x1000000.

Only downside was graphics and bots (bots wasn't a downside for me).

I kinda like the retro graphics of classic. And bots, I use to be against them. Now I find myself using more and more, because I just don't have the time I did when I first started this game. I agree with the community too.

I'd take Classic when I first started, or RS2 in the time shortly after it came out.

Rs 2006 beats Rsc anyday.

 

RS i was never a fan of RSC. I am also not a person who complains about change in the game. So i personally love the updates and RS as it changes.

 

From the release of RSC, to about 2004.... Those were the glory days, and they slowly started to go down hill.

What we have today is a pile of shit with glitter sprinkled over it.

 

For me, its 2006-2008, when my friends and I all played and where most of my memories of runescape come from.

Well depends really if I think about it i probably much prefer RS2 as they have addedd in some really good things . One of these being the grand exchange .

They've each got their own special qualities...I think I like classic better just because I grew up with it, started playing in grade school in like 2001 or whatever. Can't get into RS2 because it's geared towards a completely different audience, I find it's more for kids than anything. They took a sort of WoW approach where the original had things happen and you just had to figure it out and deal with it. I liked that, it was a challenge. Then as the game evolved it became easier and easier, until now they just sort of spoon-feed you everything. Same happened to Runescape.

I also don't like a few of the animations. They aren't fluid and are so obviously cartoony. I guess it's a bit tough to get that right when your character can't do anything after their attack until the opponent attacks.

Anyway. Classic has that vintage feel to it that I really like, plus just the overall simplicity of things. Take combat again, they overthought it a bit too much in RS2 but in classic it was very easy to understand, to remember the stats of weapons and armor, and generally just more appealing.

I was very disappointed when Jagex decided to butcher classic completely. I know there's private servers but the only thing people are interested in on those is pking which was definitely not the best or main feature of the game.

 

RSC was way better. Mainly because I grew up with it and I was little, it was like an adventure for me. Then RS2 came and it was good for a while but just became easier and easier as blupig said, then got boring.
