Require pics for Runescape gold sales...

I see how the rule is pretty strictly enforced by the mods for the runescape item sales section, but it should also be enforced for the gold sales section. too many scammers who don't even confirm the gold they are selling.

i see some threads have it, and i think having a pinned thread that says pics are required just as the runescape item selling section has would be extremely beneficial

 

A big time gold seller's gold stock might fluctuate wildly as they sell.
It would be too tedious to make them re-upload pictures if they get more gold.

Make some sort of exception for the established sellers then? I'm talking about those sellers who only sell gold occasionally. However, it is important to ensure there is no sort of bias i suppose.

 

One picture per thread should be OK imo.

For example, an established seller should post one picture holding cash and it would be enough as long as he's selling on his thread.

 

How are we meant to enforce a rule when any one could scam? thats favouritism and could also make staff responsible for someone scamming if we didnt enforce the fact that they should prove they have gold.

The amount of people who sell gold here on sythe is very high and going through everyone's posts and seeing who has proof of the gold or not is pointless. It would just be another thing newcomers look past when they want to sell, which would just be more useless work for moderators. Plus whats to stop someone from getting a picture off of google images and claiming it as their own? There is just no point.

No support. GP seller's stock always changes, so uploading a new picture every hour would be useless. And it would waste a shit load of the mods time dealing with Spam reports for that section.

 

the issue of the frequent gp sellers has already been brought up. the pics would be a one time thing. it would reduce the amount of spam in the runescape gold section. and @ karl, i dont understand how this would encourage scamming. only the naive would assume that just because someone has gold means they wont scam. it just assures people that there time is not being wasted so serious trades can be conducted. we all know how often sellers claim to have found other buyers, sold their stock, and make other bullshit reasons just to hide their scamming intentions

 

This is hard though considering the gold sellers change GP due to buying/selling at times, just ask to see the gold before sending the money if unsure about it, but they shouldn't be expected to update a pic of their gp each time they buy/sell some

 

I think most people have enough common sense to realize the 2 post newcomer might wanna show the money in a pic but there shouldn't need to be a regulation for normal members

Would you have people buying gold post a picture of the money in their paypal accounts? No, it just doesen't make sence.

This point has been made already but I'll bring it up again - stocks vary a lot, updating threads would be amazingly tedious. On the other hand, item sales are one-off and (the vast majority of) sellers will just sell their partyhats once instead of having many come into, and leave, stock. To the "if they're required for item sales, they should be required for gold sales too" argument: in addition to what I've said above, personally I don't understand why pictures are required for item sales because they're very easy to fake and don't actually mean the person won't scam.
