Runescape Doubling

I really am amazed at how many people fall for the doubling scam still. I mean its like the most obvious thing ever. I feel like jagex needs to tighten down on there security. If they gave me ability to ban people i could get like 100 rule breakers out of the game in like an hour. What are your thoughts?

probably cause he thought i was gunna try going for more
but oh well
i think some are legit
some arent

 

Surprisingly there are actually a rare few people that do double legit, although the majority definitely is a scam and they should always be avoided.

 

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Some people double legit for the first two doubles in hopes that you'll go huge afterwards.

I don't think there are any legit "doublers" out there.

 

I agree with this, never got anyone to double my money ever. But from what I've seen, it seems that people double at smaller amounts and then they scam the other player as soon as they double at a large quantity

 

I too am amazed by all the people that fall for this, it really isn't hard to see that
most of the people "doubling" will scam you. I mean I have met a few people that have doubled my money before, but as said above they wait for you to go big then take your money at the last second.

 

Not all are scammers, someone doubled 1M for me. But most people use this as a scam and I think you can report it under "Item Scamming". I dont think there is any way to stop this, so your trading at your own risk just like staking or dicing.

 

I'm surprised there's people here talking about how they aren't all scammers. It's annoying to see that doubling shit every time I go to the GE. The only reason to ever think this is real is because you think 1/million people are being generous or quitting and would just do it for fun, but if they were doing either of those things they could do it by straight giving you things not using a 'trust trade', one of the oldest scams in the book.

 

Yeah it makes me mad when I see people at the GE saying "can anyone double my 2m?" and it's not uncommon to see which makes me think a lot of people actually believe this is a legitimate thing. Like wtf? Why would anyone want to double your money... If they were legit they'd just give away stacks of gp. and the people that are "legit" only double a few mil for the first few people so they can be like "hey this guys legit" and some sucker will try to get a larger stack of gp doubled then just get scammed. There is no such thing as a legitimate doubler. You should be able to report people who even mention doubling.

 

I don't see where and why doubling came about?
How does it benefit the doubler?
And is it's sole purpose to scam?

When I get bored, I like to do legit, two trade doubles. I do two trade doubles because if I did it in one trade, they would put a ridiculous sum of money up.
There are legit money doublers out there. Trust me.

 

ive done legit doubling when i hit 99 stats.

its the new "drop party" in my books.

i usaully only do my friends list, but ive gone to w2 and done over 50m legit after 99 mage.

 

what i do is ask them to do a test double. then leave with some profit

 

Falling for the doubling scam is like falling for that darn trust game back in the day.

Yeah I know lol. Same goes for the flower game, pretty sure that's still around ingame.

 

This guy with a partyhat was doubling RS cash. I went and gave him 10k and he stole it =/. Scammers will always be scammers.
