Worst phishing email ever

Like really, if you'r gonna try to hack my account by sending me phishing emails, atleast put some effort when making the email...

So this is what I received:




I clicked the link, just to verify, and:



itssecure.runescape.com? What the fuck lol, why would runescape specify its secure or not, rofl, fail phishing attempt

 

lol, i get those daily. oh well. btw, u might wanna scan your computer just incase, idk if it's necessary but just a friendly word.

 

that's pretty pathetic, these phishers just keep getting worse and worse.

 

I've seen some pretty horrible ones, and some pretty crappy links on here. I mean it will be like from a weird domain or something and I will be thinking - Oh wow, that isn't obvious.

 

I don't ever post in the runescape sections because I don't play runescape, but I noticed this thread and wanted to let you know the domain isn't "itssecure.runescape.com" but "itssecure.runescape.com.v-log.in" with the main domain being v-log.in, not runescape.com.

Just letting you know because although this guy did a pretty bad job, there are slightly better domains like "www.runescape.com.someothersite.com" and judging by your post, you would probably fall for it.

 

If you post your email in public you would expect to get one of these, you should have seperate email just for Sythe.

It was all convincincing until the 'itssecure' page. Lmfao, terrible

 

rofl. made my morning... itssecure. For the love of god, how stupid can you be to make something like this...

 

There are some pretty clever ones out there, yet there are others at the complete opposite end of the scale that are just plain sloppy. Always good for a laugh though :laugh:

i saw some1 who's thing wasnt even working properly when he sent it out, it came up with that 404 error lmao, but yer some people are really stupid who fall for this

thing to remember is jagex will NEVER email you unless you email them first..

 

It's pretty bad, but not the "worst".

I'm getting these, so far they've all gone to my junk files box. I've ever fallen for a email phishing scam. Plus my accont can't be placed in the danger zone as I always follow the rules anyway.

 

The "@email.runescape.com" is the actual address that Jagex does use, by the way.

 

Was wondering how the guy sent the email with @email.runescape.com? I doubt they got the SMTP passwords for it. I am in no way computer savvy enought but the webpage itself is v-log.in, witch is pretty normal for a phishing site, but the email makes me wonder how its done.

Anyone able to explain?

 

The sad part is that people actually fall for this shit.

 

There's a way to fake the "from" part of the email, but I won't explain how for obvious reasons. Rest assured that it's very simple.
