CSkiffingt1 - A big thank you to Corey. Had a bit of trouble with a trade today and both I and the other user had different stories as to what happened. He came onto skype and listened to me have a phone call with a WU helper who helped straighten out the whole situation.

Extremely helpful.

 

RsProd - Nice job on spam reports, handled all my reports quickly.

 

Djweasel - Very funny guy. I always see him posting on Highpardons/Disputes. I've talked to him about some funny stuff . Good job mane.

 

Nick- The best Mod & person out there, Nick shows you what to do right and he advises you on everything pretty gently, not as many people who get mod ranked and think they are the shit. Nick is not cocky at all, he is a pretty friendly and helpful person. On the other hand, he does not force you to do things in his way as many mods do out there. He takes situations pretty simple and stay calm all the way. He always has time for you, always; he never ignores you. He always tries his best to help you out and to keep the community okay.

THE BEST MOD IN SYTHE.

By the way, he never threatens you to ban you as an option in a situation which will mainly forces you to do what the mod wants. He does not do it. This guy named Nick on sythe is one of those who really deserves the mod rank.

 

Umm I'd love to see where a mod says he will ban you if you don't do what they want.

Your basically saying some mods say if you don't do this I'm gonna ban you. That's what I read.

Not at all, what I was trying to say is like some mods will use the ban policy as a way to do things in the way they want which leads to force you.
Example:
"If this user is correct and you are lying, I will ban you on the spot"
Taken from my own personal experience in Sythe.

That means, the mod does not have patience enough to handle the situation and wants stuff to be done as soon as possible, threating the user affected to ban him on the spot if the user wastes his time. Using a ban as a way to get things sorted out faster in the way they wanted it to be, not using a ban to get something done by themselves.
You get the difference or need more examples? Sorry if you get offended by me saying "some mods".

 

"If you're wrong and you're lying, I'll ban you" In other words.... If you're caught lying about something... We should just let you get away with it?

Seriously. You're making absolutely no sense, and you're basically slandering staff for trying to do their job. We're not going to ban you for not doing something we want you to. That's just asinine.

 

That's what I was thinking more of a slander. Are you saying nick let you go about something or wha.

I dont think its anything to do with patience at all, our team put a lot of work into this site, and to be honest, dealing quickly and efficiently with a report is the best way;

1.) To avoid more scams.
2.) To see their reaction.

People who are not guilty will react differently to those who are not, for example.. If someone made a scam report on you, and I asked you about it and I said 'I swear that if you're lying, you will be banned straight away', The non-guilty response would be like 'I promise Im not', etc. The response is less irrational, they type less focused, they respond quickly, etc. It could also give them a chance to admit to their mistakes and help a moderator understand what happened before banning them, which is much easier than persuading a mod via Dispute.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that all staff have multiple ways of getting an answer out of somebody, but the way shouldn't matter too much, its the verdict/end result that we aim for.

 

I totally agree with that, let's change the situation.

n4n0 the mod is trustworthy as fuck right? right? he had some trouble and he is telling how things happened but the other mod before you even start will tell you:

If n4n0 the mod is trustworthy as fuck, why would he even lie about a situation? of course, that doesn't happen to n4n0 the mod, he is not a regular user.

And nope DJ, Nick is a serious dude.

 

Finally somebody with English reading comprehension got it. That is what I tried to say, it is like some mods get things sorted out by threating with banning; that is what I dislike, nothing else.

I do not wanna make somebody angry with me,but I am not happy with behaving of some mods ..especially: Snow Patrol ,

I am not sure why it happend ,maybe he just forgot to BAN him and I hope so it does not have anything with corruption or something, but here is the story:

I reported this guy: http://www.sythe.org/member.php?u=218335 for scamming me and it was in December. My report was aproved as you can see here:
http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1298767 and SnowPatrol claimed that he banned him. Well its been more then month now ,but he is not still banned as you can see in his sythe profile. So I wonder what happend?

 

Snow Patrol did ban him, but it looks like he may have forgotten to request for a global to make the ban permanent (sectionals can only temp ban). I just permanently banned him.

 

While I understands that Mods are just human, I have seen this problem a few times recently. This should be priority number 1 if we are going to be all about stopping scammers.
