Storys of being scammed

Does anyone have any good/sad/funny stories of being scammed or knowing someone scammed?

I remember in my noob days about 7 years ago when I just gave some guy my user and pass so he could "give me" 100k hahah

 

I remember when I was noob I gave my RS account (lvl 62) and hoped to swap it for RS acc (lvl 110) and I gave my account, he logged out and dropped my bank ;d account wealth was 1M and it was big cash for me thosedays

 

I'd just sold all my loot from slayer, pvm, etc and had 45m and 10k Nats and maple longs (u), took like a month. And someone was saying free rocktails if you show me a good inventory, so I thought why not and showed him mine. He offered the rocktails and accepted, because I was happy with my loot and wasn't paying attention I did too....gf :/

When free trade first came out I wanted to try luring. Somehow I got talked into.a team and then killed for 49m and rapier.

back when world 2 was where you went to trade spam, buying 1k magics (before their graphic update) at seers bank, was lagging loads, somebody traded me 1k magics then quickly switched them to willows

i quickly traded as i was lagging hard and enjoyed my very expensive willows

 

I've seen multiple people on this site who have scammed in the past and thought it was alright and got banned.

 

I went first for a trade in 07, in which I got scammed.
The buyer had my account near Varrock west mine, ready to drop 100k worth of gear but I recovered it in the nick of time. A failed scam.

 

Bought my first Green H'wen mask when I was about lvl 70. Went to Great demons with it and died and lost it. Biggest fail ever.

I bought 400 bones instead of big bones one day back in '07.
I had saved up for a long time..

 

LOL back in 2007 this happened to me with my main (lvl like 74 back then) but i hade full rune and 500 something K. and i got lobsters instead in f2p.
I still remember the guy saying "haha thanks captian numbskull".

 

Back in 07 I used to be a girl character. I used to make so called "Pixel boyfriends" and get some money off them. Believe it or not I made a good 8m a day from the desperate noobs.

It's wasn't that big of a scam but, a few months after I started playing (sometime in 05 I think) there was a guy in Varrock's West bank saying "Look, Jagex blocks you for saying your password: *******!" and being the curious little derp I was, typed out my password right in front of him. The moment I saw my uncensored password hovering over my character's head, the color drained from my face, and I quickly logged out to try and change it; but as luck would have it I dc'd, raged, bashed the keyboard, and spent the next couple hours waiting for my dad to come home to fix the internet. When it was back online, I tried to log into my only account, but to no avail. Depressed, I made a new account and leveled it up a bit. Fortunately, I had remembered the guy who lured my password's name, so I kept him added on my new account.
For the next few days whenever I would see him log on, I'd bombard him with raging pm's until he'd log out or turn off public chat. I'm guessing he found my rages humorous because he never added me to his ignore list. Finally one day I decided to track him down by switching to his world and wandering around Varrock. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the little green dot on map being followed by about 7 other people raging at him claiming they'd been scammed. Again, he appeared to be enjoying the attention, but after a couple of hours I was the only one following him.
After much pestering, he agreed to return my account. So he logs out, 10 minutes go by, he logs back in and tells me the new password. I was relived to find out he had indeed returned the account, but unfortunately cleaned it out. I lost a few sapphires, about 30k, and my prized shade robes

The only time I was ever scammed in RuneScape, I.E not associated with the blackmarket was when I began I fell for the old Gem Cutting trick. At the time I was hoping to get to level 60 mining so I could access the Mining Guild, so I had a fair amount of gems.

 

I took the wine of zamorak back when they could shut the door on you. I lost my mithril helm and shield and was very disheartened.

And once someone sold me 1000 regular bones for 300 each, cause I assumed they were big bones. Of course, that technically isn't a scam because they were saying "selling 1k bones 300 each" around everyone who was selling big bones, and when noted they looked similar back in the day... but I turned around and sold them to someone else for the same price.

 

This guy was 'giving away' his account on here, so as soon as ilogged in...
I dropped 20M, torso, rune defenders, ava's, firecape, a rapier and a long, and about 40 OVLS.
Fun.

 

lol i was scammed 3m when i came here first.. but got experinece now

 

the amount of times I've been scammed is unreal:L the first time I hot scammed was Doubling money in 06, some guy doubled my 20gp so I gave him my only 1k and he went "Noo hoo" and ran off lmao, I was like level 14 or so at the time

I got scammed otherday on dung leeches for arcane stream necklace tokens for 7M he said he would do it a lot cheaper if it was 1 order like the one I did ;s I'm a tool though when it comes to things like that lol.

 

I think it's funny that the guy that started this thread is banned.

But I'd have to say the dumbest thing I fell for was when someone had an l instead of an I in their MSN and I gave them 100M. I laugh about it now because I know how to deal.
