    Vps

I have very little prior knowledge, so bare with me.

I need something that allows me to autoclick (alch) while my computer is off. From what I've heard, what I need is a VPS.

I see threads around here about people selling packages and stuff, but I am unsure how that works. So basicly, how do VPS's work? Where is the best place to get a VPS? Also, you can run other processes (like IRC scripts) from a VPS as well, too, right?

    Appreciate the info. Thanks.

    Virtual Private Server

It's essentially a computer that isn't within your reach, that you connect to through the internet. So, when you rent a VPS from a company, you gain access to the computer server that you're renting in a small window on your own computer, which acts as a sort of "second desktop". It would look something like this:

For things like autoclickers that use the mouse, you will only be able to run one at a time on a VPS, unless you get a virtual machine as well (which is where you share system resources like ram and processing cores with a second virtual desktop running off your current system - this is how a lot of Mac users emulate Windows, through a VM), in which case you could run 2 on one VPS.

VPS providers are relatively easy to find, just google some.

Okay, but you can run a VPS when your computer is turned off, correct?

As for providers, I have googled some but I will just curious if there is one in particular that is safe and affordable that you use?

Yes, the VPS runs on a server at a datacenter. All you do from your computer is connect to it to control it. Don't really have any company recommendations, sorry.

Yes, you can turn off your computer and your VPS will keep going.

I would reccomend either Seerhost or PhotonVPS

Choose a Xen Package if you intend to bot etc.

    Good Luck

You don't have to have a vps, will just help if you want to turn your computer off, im pretty sure you can still run a autoclicker on your computer while its in sleep mode by the way if you dont want to go through that hassle.

I recommend seershost, but I really don't think you need to use a VPS if its just one auto clicker. I used seershost when I was botting alot, back in the day. If your worried about electricity bills/parents finding out your comp is on 24/7, just turn off the monitor or screen brightness. I have my autoclicker set on my imac at home, brightness off and everything. I made a short java program to call my iphone when it detects that colors are off, basically it tells me when my account is in a random. Maybe thats what you want?

Okay, thank you everyone for your imput so far. I am looking at using Photon since Seer has been down for a bit now.

Someone above me recommended the Xen package. Which warp be enough to run a simple clicker 24/7? Don't really want to fork out an arm and a leg here.

Sorry for the noob questions, not well versed in specs.

Also, are there any good methods to beat the 6 hour autolog?

Some vps companies will disable your vps if you bot runescape. I've never had a problem with photonvps.
