Report don't Post?

As most of you have seen this "Y Market" spam thing is getting very annoying, but whats more annoying is when people post the same thing on all the threads (EXAMPLE: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1315127).

All this doe's is Bumps up the posts and allows the poster to gain a unhelpful, unneeded post.

There needs to be a rule that states when there is spam NOT to post on the thread just report it.

 

Unfortunately some users haven't reached the level of intelligence to just simply report it instead of posting on the thread. Even if it is reported, it will take a while before a mod can lock/temp ban the user.

 

Exactly, but instead of letting the thread just die out, people bump it up.

Most forums this would fall under "BACK SEAT MODDING" I dont understand why this site does not offer this rule.

 

I was stating it wasn't allowed, I think the first person who replies to that is allowed to post it but people who post after or in other words 'repeating what I said' I can see your point. To be honest I don't reply to advertising posts if someone hasn't already. I just report and move on.

 

Report it and leave it.

 

As stated by n4n0 before, one or two posts stating that it's against the rules and that any links provided by people may be unsafe is MORE than enough, after that it's just free bumps.

It should just consist of one or two posts as precaution/safety and then from there on out there's no reason to post, just report it.

 

What I say if I come across something like this is
"I already reported this, no need for further posts - they will be treated as spam"

 

good suggestion. i agree it does get annoying.

 

I think we had a rule like this back when I joined, but so many people do it that they just took it out.

 

Is that not the point of rules?

To stop that from happening?

 

just let people get infracted if they do this...

It needs the correct pictures, read this sticky here and then update.

that i wouldnt have been infracted.

I dont see why you would need to say anything?

Report the post and let the Sythe.org Mods do this, thats why they are Mods.

 

If you can just tell them, then it will save mods time that they could be on livehelp or getting to java driveby's and deleting those links instead of stopping and locking threads that dont have the correct pictures

 

Report it. It'll be handled. 'nuff said.
